Show off your customized parked pages!

Hi everyone,

I would love to see examples of what other people have come up in terms of customizing their parked pages. I think this is a good idea since it will inspire people to do better with their pages when they see what can be done with the limited customize options.

To kick it off, here are a few of my custom pages at Bodis:

http://MountainViewAreaCodes.com (Problem is, I think I am giving people what they want, the area codes, so there is no need for them to click anything!)

http://Bandylegged.com (Silly handdrawn logo using Paint and goofy pirate text using as many pirate buzz words as I can muster in a tiny space.)

http://PartituraDeAccordionGratis.com (My attempt at a Spanish site. My limited Spanish vocabulary forced me to double check it all using Babelfish. Wish the links could be in Spanish too. But yes, that LONG url does get visits!)

BTW, this thread does not have to be limited to Bodis. Feel free to show off some of Parked.com's new features too!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just picked up 2 new domains and customized them. Let me know what you think about them please.

www.pilotlicense.us
www.futurepilot.info

all tips, hints and tricks are appreciated!

Thanks,

IB

Just added Some text and a picture to PcMfg.com stands for pc manufacturer

Looks v. nice DnPresident. Tell me something, would it be possible to move the picture of the PCs to the left margin and then the text would start to the right of the picture. If that is possible then it would look much better, instead of having that blank space as you have at the moment, IMO. That way you could also make the PCs picture a wee bit larger.

Mike, on www.pilotlicense.us I personally would increase the size of the text a wee bit on "Ten steps to get your first pilot license. The coveted PPL - Private Pilot License is the springboard towards your future pilot career or hobby flying" and I would change the colour to blue to see if it looks better

As for www.futurepilot.info is also nice, but the Pilots licence Card is cut. I only see the top 40% of it. Something wrong there. I do like the text wrapping around the card.

I would also, if possible allow a bigger left and right margin on your text

Some more examples:

www.domainregisterguide.com - www.golfinmadeira.com - www.Healthynaturaldiets.com

I think this thread is a great idea, just wondering if it might be better to hypersnap an pic of your pages instead of putting up direct links . Noticed some improvement by changing backgound/text links colors and esp by writing more compelling text . I had an old mail order book that had some good examples of this for example instead of : ' Piano Lessons, how to play the Piano ' one ad guy rewrote it as : Everybody laughed when I sat down at the piano, but when I sat down to play " and his sales improved dramatically .

What do you think?

Very Nice!!! This is a WHYPARK page?????

Also, I just wanted to let you know that you have a coding issue. When "This Site Is For Sale" is clicked, it comes up with the error message:

The web site you are accessing has experienced an unexpected error.
Please contact the website administrator.

The following information is meant for the website developer for debugging purposes.

Error Occurred While Processing Request
Could not find the ColdFusion Component or Interface Captcha.
Ensure that the name is correct and that the component or interface exists.

The error occurred in O:\WebSites\whypark.com\for-sale.cfm: line 3

1 : <cfsavecontent variable="mainbody">
2 :
3 : <cfobject component="Captcha" name="myCaptcha">
4 : <cfset myCaptcha.configure(expandPath("captcha"),"WW77V-AXQC0-AC4TR-1VV26-7W4ME")>
5 : <cfset myCaptcha.setIgnoredFontList("Symbol,WebDings,Webdings")>

You might want to fix this. :hehe:

Taking someone's suggestion (johnname?) I used a table with cell padding set to 12. It was tough; I'm a CSS kinda gal now, but I tabled up.

Do mean you used a web design software like Dreamweaver to do that?

It's probably a silly question, but when you don't understand how....

Heh, no, I've been designing websites for ten years. I can do this stuff in my head. (Or Notepad) But the editor that Parked has has various advanced table features, if you right click in the table.

What I find funny now is that half of the parked domains in this whole thread have a blank white page with "Domain not found in any user account.".

DADomains got cut from Bodis

DADomains, in the event you have notification turned on, you appear to be one of the nine of ten accounts who was cut by Bodis.

Nice work nscdn. One problem on your Webkinz site. I'm seeing it on IE7 and it shows the right ads have lost a section from top to bottom. In other words if yor page is 750 wide the it lost maybe 30-40 on the right side. Hope you understand what I'm trying to explain.

Here are some of my examples
www.voip-tv.info - www.cholesteral.info - www.dragonstonemagnetic.com

I have these at Bodis, and don't know whether I'm going to survive the cut or not, but I'm happy with these pages:

www.TobaccoCrop.com
www.Bavarian.tv
www.e-scuba.com
www.e-gasoline.com

Andrea

Great stuff Andreia. I remember seeing these sites before and I notice a lot more text in them now. There's a lot of work in there.

Here are some of my Bodis ones:

www.SoSexyLangerie.com - www.OoLaLaLangerie.com - www.josemourinho.com

Yeah I know what you mean. Unfortunately that is Amazon code that I cannot do anything about...
