I had a buyer that clicked on my Buy Now ($250) page at Sedo. They created a payment request for the buyer and when he wants to proceed he gets alipay.com page on chinese. That made him to stop at that point because he is not familiar with the process. I understand his suspicion because the guy is from US and doesn't want to pay through the page where the only part he understand is 250USD.

All of my domains are listed at GoDaddy and DNS, so I'm not familiar with the process Sedo handles transfers and sales. Just wanted to ask is this happened to me an exception or they do this all the time?

Thanks.

You should consider selling your domains yourself. No one entity cares for your domains as much as you care for them, so hang your own "For Sale" page. I can't understand the need for Sedo or any other company which merely allows you to hang domains there for sale. It seems to me that when bad stuff happens, these companies disavow themselves of any meaningful responsibility. Sure, some say "We're very sorry for the inconvenience. We pride ourselves on ... blah ... blah ... blah ...." But do any of them offer you cash back? A Starbucks card for your time? No. Your time is treated as though it is worthless.

Get smart. Sell you own domains.

Awful negative poster for sure.
And it adds nothing to the thread.

The buyer contacted me through email asking how to buy the name, I provided him with the link to domain at Sedo. It's three word domain with no special meaning for me so I priced it at $250 long time ago and didn't want to increase or reduce the price now.

I knew who the buyer was so after 12 days of waiting him to proceed with the payment at Sedo, I decided to send him an email and he showed me the screenshot with alipay page and only thing that was understandable to us was 250USD in the top right corner.

I created the thread just to see if there is anyone else who experienced this or this guy is just wasting my time.

Call them, seems like something is setting it off they're from China or something. Alipay is: Alipay: Available for customers who have a Chinese credit card/bank account. We accept Alipay payments for amounts up to 50.000 CNY

The buyer is from US so that's why it was strange to me why on earth they created payment request for him through alipay.

That's why you call/contact them. Probably just some error they can fix pretty easily or they can tell you why it's popping up for them.

It happened to us in the past.
To solve the problem we talked with our sedo transfer specialist and we asked him to open the credit card or paypal option and he did it.

Yeah so the easiest way to get around this issue is to get a hold of your transfer specialist, but since we have never had such a problem in the past while buying/selling names at Sedo, I find it strange tbh!

And what compensation did Sedo offer for YOUR time dealing with THEIR mistake? Wowee! You asked your Sedo "transfer specialist" to do something and he did it! Wowee!

Keep handing them the cash, especially if your time has no value whatsoever.

At some point in the sales process on Sedo you can choose a currency and I think globally you can set a language. So it is possible that the user can just change some settings for language, currency, payment options - either for the whole account or just this for this transaction.

Or just contact Sedo, in this case user or you can do it via the transfer page they have set up for you to message about the transaction.

Never had this prob, always found it easy to pay, used a credit card.

I think its time to move from Sedo. That's what I'm getting from this. I went from 200 clicks a month to 0 visits since I took my traffic from Sedo. Start selling on your own or visit my link \/

The horror of good customer service. How dare they do their job and help out. I can't believe errors happen. Everything should be working in this world 100% of the time.

Your idea of "good customer service" is for the customer to come up with the solution, then tell the lazy Sedo employee what to do.

Everything can't work 100% of the time, except employees on the job being paid to work a certain amount of time each day. Waiting for customers to suggest a fix for a problem with the auction platform entity is pathetic. Come to think of it, so is your post.

Guys, what happens if I cancel the transaction after 17 days without reply from the buyer? Am I or buyer obliged to pay a fee or commission?
