SEDO nonsense transfer / escrow service

I gave the control of the domain (user and password of the registrar account) to SEDO since more than a month ago and they told me they sent this to the buyer in the same day (5th August).

Seems to be a problematic guy, he delayed the payment for more than one month and he is not responding to SEDO calls or just says "I will look into this today or tomorrow".

Meanwhile the registrar password has been changed !!! :|

What sort of escrow is offering SEDO where the seller loses the domain for more than a month, the buyer is kidding them and they not disburse the payment?

In fact, I thought the transfer manager (Iris Siedlatzek) was a newbie at SEDO, but she is there from at least 2008 ...

Buyer just says "will confirm today" ... again.

This is the 5th time in a month that buyer says the same thing.

And we had very good luck due to he replied !!!

Usually not even replies ... >:(

But you only push domains into a Sedo account - because they clearly state that they offer an escrow service. Then they push or allow transfer to buyer account. Did they ask you to give them access to the registrar account?

Yes, I created a new account at the registrar, then pushed the domain there and I gave the user and password of that account to SEDO. Then SEDO sent the account access to the buyer.

This happened on 5th August and, as I checked some days ago, password was changed. So I can't understand what has to confirm the buyer and even less why SEDO allows he doesn't give a response in more than a month.

That's weird. When I do a deal on Sedo as a buyer I have to pay first, then wait til it clears (days sometimes) - only then does Sedo request the seller to transfer the name to the Sedo account. Then I wait again for a transfer code to my registrar. I have a deal now still in limbo since 2+ weeks ago. They canceled my transfer at the last minute and gave me zero reasons and only 1 response after I bugged them for 3 days. As of now I have no domain and the money I spent has vanished lol.

They were one of the few I liked til my last 2 deals there went sour.

Hope you get yours resolved, good luck.

Buyer finally found a minute for replying and confirming today and payment is on the way. This transaction only took 4 months, from when the deal was closed (13th May) until now!

I ususally write them, if they want me to deal with buyer : "you guys have to earn the commission, give me sedos account and I will push". Some buyers maybe take months to transfer, why should I deal with this

I also wrote the buyer some days ago for asking him if there was any problem ... No response, of course. -_-

I agree. SEDO should have a deadline for confirming or not before the payment release. Escrow.com gives until 3 days for this.

After I posted this above the domain dropped into my account, ironic. :)

Hope you get your transaction done now terol, good luck.

I've just sold my first domain on Sedo and came across this thread. Do I have to give Sedo access to my registrar account? Or do I transfer it to them, as they do the escrow? Bit confused

No, Sedo has own escrow-accounts with all popular registrars...
So they will ask you to push it...
