Name not available? Whois searchers will now see if it’s for sale.
EURid is now showing if a domain name is listed for sale at Sedo when someone does a whois lookup, and linking directly to the sale listing.
This is a nifty deal. Keep in mind that full .eu whois records are only available at EURid’s website, so many people use the actual website to look up whois records. Now, if they see the domain is registered, they will be notified that it can still be obtained. A couple clicks later, they can make an offer on the domain name.
Because .com domain names have decentralized whois data maintained by each registrar, some people have added “for sale” messages to .com whois records. But this still isn’t as convenient as what Sedo has done with EURid.
