Hi guys,

I entered insuranceclaims.net into Sedo great domain auction and it was refused with the following message.

(Quality requirements not met)

My question is….. would this be a mistake and should I try entering again or is this name of low quality not worth a great amount?
My perspective is the two words seem like a good fit but I’m very new to this industry and an asking the questions so I can learn moving forward.

Thanks in advance 😊

Hi

it's not a mistake,
but on other hand your name is not that great either.

don't take it personal, because they might accept domains that you may think are lower quality than yours.

wait until the list is finalized, view it and you'll get better idea.

imo...

I entered many single word .coms. They werent accepted either for the same reason. I looked at what was accepted and in my opinion, mine were better, but, obviously, just not what they wanted.

Dear Mormas,

Thanks for your comment.

In addition to whats been said I wanted to add, just because your domain has been rejected for the Great Domains Auction, this doesnt mean that its not a good domain. It just means it doesnt qualify for our Great Domains Auction which is very exclusive and has a very limited amount of spaces for applicants. Resubmitting the domain will not be successful but you are still able to sell it on our standard marketplace as Make Offer or Buy Now.

I wish you every success selling your domain!

Please do not write such generic answer. Give us pointwise reason for not to be rejected for Great Domain Auction. Do you need high DA, PA, DR domain? Do you need high traffic domain with high TF and CF domain. Please tell us exactly what parameters Do you require to select a domain for Great Domain Auction slot? If slot is not free that also be mentioned before submitting for Auction.

Hope you can understand our queries.

With Regards

Deb

Hi Deb,

The criteria for the auction is clearly displayed when you are at the application stage. If your domain meets all the points then you are safe to apply. We have thousands of applicants and we do not have the resources to be able to customise each rejection. Spaces in this domain auction are extremely limited, we can not accept every domain.

The way our selection process works is as so, we allocate a certain amount of spaces for each reserve range, once they are full that’s it. This is so that all buyers with different budgets can take part in the auction and there are an equal number of differently valued domains.

Should a domain be rejected, we are not saying that it is not a good quality domain, it can simply be because either the keywords, reserve price or the TLD is not suitable, or that some are suitable and some not. For example, the name could possibly qualify but the sellers price expectation is not realistic. Domains could also simply be rejected due to the fact that we have already filled the reserved spaces that we have allocated for domains in that price range. Due to the sheer numbers of applicants, we are not able send a personalised rejection reason as to why a domain is rejected for the reasons given above.

One final point, we used to charge for this service. 10 USD per application, but we have made applying for this special auction a free service. The way we offer the application service now may not be optimal but it lets us to continue to offer it for free.

All the best
Chris

Thanks for reply. If you inform me the reason of rejection, then I can change my mindsets to make the domain acceptable for auction.

@Sedo

If you do not mind I would like share my insights about great domain auctions. Because I have researched everything and brought all together in one article and I believe it is helpful. You are going to have a new auction soon and people might read the full article below

Common Reasons for Domain Rejection

While it can be disheartening to receive a rejection, it’s important to understand why your domain might not be accepted. Here are some common reasons why Sedo might decline a domain for the auction:

  1. Criteria Not Fully Met: Even if your domain meets most of the qualifications, missing just one requirement can result in a rejection.
  2. WHOIS Information Discrepancy: If your WHOIS data doesn’t match your Sedo account, they might reject your domain for verification issues.
  3. High Minimum Price: Setting an unrealistic minimum price can decrease your chances of approval. Sedo recommends submitting a competitive price to attract more buyers and increase the chance of a successful sale.
  4. Auction Spots Already Full: Sometimes, all available slots for the auction are filled before your submission. In this case, you can try re-submitting your domain for a future auction.
  5. Quality Domain, But Auction Full: Your domain might be high-quality but miss out due to auction space limitations. Submitting earlier next time can improve your chances.
