Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

This latest and my last ever ccTLD transfer via Sedo finally gave me enough motivation to remove all domains from my account (not all of my domains were even listed). The buyer has been unresponsive/uncooperative for over two weeks after they received the domain, so Sedo cannot (or actually just won’t) consider the transfer finished, and they are withholding my outstanding payment probably forever.

Good riddance. I’m glad Spaceship (and Fruits.co etc.) came to eat Sedo’s lunch. SS has been great when it comes to ccTLD sales&transfers.

I had a few times happening this, with unresponsive buyers, buth usually, if you let seo know that the transfer is done, they send an email to ask the buyer and from that time, if he doesn't reply in 5 working days, they do the payout in the sixt day. I think I had around 6 issues like that im the last year, I'm niot sure if it's exactly the same with you. I've had one with afternic where the buyer took 5 weeks to start the transfer and after that, he was non responsive so after another two weeks I was paid eventually. I think dan.com had 7 days of non reply to do a payout.

It's now 15 days since the transfer and Sedo contacting the buyer after it, I don't give a rat's ass about how many of those are working days. About 2/3 of my Sedo sales have ended up with "a situation" of some kind, because Sedo gives too much leeway to buyers/idiots and leaves the seller in the dark. Never again.

For me, it was 6 out of 22. But if we are talking about cctlds spaceship or godaddy can't replace them for now. They are slow and archaic and not very flexible, so hopefully who will buy them (not godaddy) will take them to 2026.

There are various "super sellers" on Sedo that have total control of the system and can add any domain they choose, and it will be immediately taken from your account without notice.

And with no any intention of misunderstanding your words, ' it will be taken from your account without notice' sounds like a thief, though.

It is, and I've called out Sedo many times for doing this and their crazy reply is always "No one stole your domain, they only listed it on their account", like that makes any sense. Obviously we're talking about "stealing the Sedo listing without authorization", but support being moronic and condescending is the Sedo way.

Apparently because the thief didn't hack our registrar account and actually steal the domain itself apparently makes this whole "listing thievery" behavior A-OK and totally above board.

It's 19 years old now [ 2007 ] and, apparently, you didn't respond to any customer suggestion, here, since October 2025.

I stopped expecting much, they're probably understaffed now and morale isn't what it used to be

Sedo recently made significant cuts to its staff. I’m told it could impact more than 50% of employees. The move comes as IONOS tries to sell the unit after Google shut down its AdSense for Domains program.

On a positive note: I've started pointing a small subset of my domains to Sedo again, mainly some European ccTLDs priced in Euro. This time I'm skipping the sl1/sl2 detour and using the standard Sedoparking nameservers and Sales lander #15, since that extra hop with sl1/sl2 is no longer necessary.

I don't think it's an official account designation. I think it's just a fact that there are some large account holders (who've used Sedo for ages) who have been given special permissions to list any domain without verification.

just got this from sedo support

Please accept our apologies for the issues you have experienced when trying to list the domain for sale on our Marketplace.

We have confirmed with the previous owner that they no longer own this domain and the sales team has reminded them to take it off their listings and made a notation on their account in case they try to list it again.
