Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

I got no sales at Sedo since 2022, last sale was $99.

Just wondering about Sedo's bulk uploader - the instructions are confusing.

Can you just upload a file with your already-listed domains in it to update their prices? Possibly the option on the left would do that, but the one on the right would delete any domain you forgot to include! Does anyone know?

Also the file you download with Sedo exports has different columns from the sample uploads file they provide, so presumably you can't just download your domains, edit the spreadsheet and upload it again.

For updating already listed domains, you can indeed use the left option. You don't have to list all your existing domains in the upload, only those you wish to update. Domains that are not in the upload, are left as-is.

Use the right option ONLY when you want to replace your whole portfolio, including deletes. Any domain that's not in your upload, will then be deleted.

Yes thanks for that, I also tested after you said and you were correct, our Tech Team should update this soon to avoid any future confusion.

Chris - It was never been updated. (and yes, all I realize Chris hasn't responded here in forever)

Sedo takes forever to verify ownership via TXT records. Absolutely nothing changes at this domain dinosaur.

From my experience here is what to do to optimize Sedo verification. Change NS some time before adding the domain. If using TXT (not NS) change it some time before adding the domain to Sedo. The key is it need to be propagated before adding. If their system tries to verify prior it gets stuck and they seemingly take forever to retry.

Personally I always use NS, unless the name is already in their system and they tell me to use TXT. In those cases, verification often takes 24-48 hours sadly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did add the TXT record before adding the domain, but admittedly only a short time before. So I guess it will take those 24-48 hours.

The domain is in another seller's account, so I cannot use NS.

Right - when using txt records - I always give >5 min even if TTL is <5 min. And where it is 5 min, I give 10.
it isn't foolproof but in my experience increases likelihood it's accepted sooner. Of course, it could just be coincidence. Sedo's tech is 1970s

For the past few days, memories of the early 2000s have been resurfacing, when the magic word was CSS.

Missing table columns in the Sedo portfolio and that bizarre error message with Mr. Gauss.

Are you experiencing something similar?

Nothing new, but I've come to the point where I'm afraid that something will sell on Sedo.

So I'm out.

If spaceship could buy sedo and change everything to spaceship platform, will bea game changer, with sedo brand and millions of domains listed, sedo mls and others, spaceship could become the number one player.

And we get the advantage of lesser commission (if maintained the same) and more exposure

By the latest moves, looks like Richard could hunt for a complete exist from namecheap and keep spaceship and start over, so he already has the money to acquire sedo, from his shares sale from last year and build spaceship as the top player in town. Probably that's the reason he refuse to use namecheap brand on spaceship, a complete break up will follow.

Some brokers at sedo are horrible, waiting days so buyer can confirm transfer when they can see it clearly moved on aged accounts. If buyer doesn't respond get put into limbo for weeks. Need a better system. The buyer already has a site up, and they still don't release payment. I think sedo just housed by part time workers now.

Sedo stats don't seem to update any more. Has traffic stopped? Visiting the landing pages for those domains gets you an empty screen with this message:
