Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

@Sedo I'm here to say that Iโ€™ve left Sedo to switch to Afternic. Seriously, Sedo's platform feels like itโ€™s straight out of the 90s and has become unusable. The internal tabbed menu has always been complicated to navigate, despite the fact that Iโ€™ve been registered on Sedo since 2012.

I hope this feedback can help you improve in the future.

yea well sedo ui sucks.. but we need exposure and luckily sedo and afternic are not exclusive

Seller shows asking price of $100 - but I can only make offers (starting at $20). I've made an offer but got no response. Shouldn't I be able to "buy now" if it shows seller asking price? @Sedo What's the point of showing seller asking price if one cannot buy it at that price?

@NameGroove We understand that our minimum price setting might be confusing for potential buyers. To clarify, our system automatically sets a minimum price of $20 USD for negotiations. However, the seller's asking price is a negotiable price expectation, not a fixed amount.

For 'Make Offer' listings, sellers can set a price expectation to provide guidance to interested buyers. This serves as an orientation point, giving buyers an idea of the seller's desired price range.

As a guideline, if a seller has set an asking price of $100 USD, we recommend starting with an offer that is closer to this amount, rather than the minimum price of $20 USD. This approach shows that buyers are serious about the purchase and helps to facilitate a smoother negotiation process.

Thanks for the explanation. If you know it is confusing to potential buyers, perhaps a wording change is in order?

The confusion stems from "asking price" which in English refers more to a set price rather than a negotiable or minimum price. Perhaps it should be reworded to something like sellers suggested price (which is similar to the terminology automakers use; such as MSRP). There may be alternatives as well.

Another option would be to remove it altogether and modify the minimum price to whatever the seller lists as their "asking price". The two shouldn't be set differently imo. Leaving it as is causes confusion. If a domainer like me couldn't understand it what do you think is happening to buyers? I'd say lost sales are occurring due to it.

Talking about things that could change in sedo.
How about adding the option to reject an offer?

Now you can only accept, counter and do nothing.
Rejection has value sometimes, it is a statement

Hi. I have a question for Sedo.com repr.

Why Sedo domain manager always shows me wrong traffic stats?

And mostly Zero visits to my offer pages?

For example I had 500 visits for 10 days last month for one of my domains, and this month, for 5 days, I have 2 visits with this domain, but 50 visits with other domain, that last month had Zero visits. How such can be? Seems unrealistic.

Other thing. Why if my Cash Parked with Offer Button domain had 500 visits for last 10 days it has Zero visits of offer page?(leads to offer page) Offer Button does not work properly?

But other domain that has Very low traffic shows 26 visits of offer page(it's misspelled known domain, and it's parked, not leading to offer page directly, so).

I just want to ensure that visitors(there are a lot of visitors, I checked other parking services I used before) can see Offer Pages.

But for 100 domains I own(for example) - very low offer page visiting, like 5 domains per 1 visit, and 2 domains per 2 visits. People must click on this "visit offer page" button randomly, because it's interesting.(I do it oftenly, personally(on other's domains)).

It all depends on whether you send traffic to Sedo or not.

If you use Sedo nameservers for your domains then the bots will hammer them, but if not, then it's more than likely real traffic.

Anyway if domains are parked with Sedo and people know that they are for sale on Sedo, offer pages must get more and more visits. Simple logic. I see mostly zero visits of offer pages.

That's only if people type these domains in. Other than GD (as it's a popular registrar), none of the other marketplaces have any noticeable inherent traffic at all.

There is no guarantee of type-in traffic ever, especially with brandables.

Sold my first domain through MLS this week. Only a small sale but I had the money within 4 hours of the "sold" email. Couldn't have been any smoother.

Congrats! Wondering when I am gonna have my first Sedo sale.. Just to compensate me for the wasted time listing names on their website ๐Ÿ˜‚

How long did it take? 7 years?

๐Ÿคฃ yeah I feel ya. First passive sale I've had there in 10 years I think ๐Ÿค”. Although I've only ever had 100 domains for sale there. I'm not sure I'd spend the time listing there if it wasn't so easy through Dynadot ls dashboard.

Do you guys have listed on Sedo with BIN and a minimum offer price?

BIN sales in the four digits do not happen often in my Sedo account. My minimum bid is 1k USD and every two months there is a buyer who bids exactly this amount of money. The guy doesnยดt offer 1 Dollar more in following negotiations but pays instantly if I accept. Sometimes these sales are welcome even if you think your domain is worth x-fold.
