Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Why does a name sold a month ago still show up in my dashboard leads and "needs attention" lead center?

We've switched to the new GoDaddy appraisals in your Afternic seller portfolio.

The rebuilt appraisal model is live in your account now, on Domain Details pages and in the Lead Center sidebar.

@Afternic

Why afternic is no more showing the comparable domain sales on domain detail pages !??

Why were they allowed to publicize sellers' personal data in the first place?

Good timing. Finally I can get rid of my mediocre "50 dotdb" .ai domains when GoDaddy's estimated true value is mid-to-high 5-figures and 3x my asking price. (Of course the whole idea of the true value without the person with a wallet is absurd but who cares, woo-hoo.)

(for my part, SellerHub is now outselling AN by 5:1 (probably 10:1 soon), so I really stopped caring about any of this stuff, including the trivial fact that AN's jerry-rigged system doesn't let me list dick.si)

That's a big difference. May I ask, do you have all domains listed in both marketplaces, and what do you put that disparity down to - customers coming through landers @ Spaceship, alternative extension that usually sells better at SS, or ...?

.si

(unlisted on Afternic because I absolutely loathe the lander penalty when their lander is the crippled 101domain.com redirect)

Tagging @GoDaddy because this is important seller feedback that needs to be picked up internally.

They "claim" it's because they're updating appraisals and say they'll be brought back.

However, I fail to see why appraisals (updated or not), have anything to do with comparable domain sales. One is opinion, the other is fact. And they have nothing to do with one another

Value algo still sucks.

They all do and it's somewhat understandable as domain sales are random and tough to gauge, but it's worrisome that 99% of the time, the values are way, way, way too low.

For example, on Atom my total sold domains (and a lot of those were junk) represents just over 1% of my current portfolio, yet my entire Portfolio Value is only 4.5X that of my Total Sales. :xf.rolleyes:

Does that make any sense, especially as I'm holding onto my Premiums looking for the very best price. There's direct TLD sales data right there in front of you Atom, and you need to make use of it in your valuations.

Hi @GoDaddy @Afternic
I'm currently experiencing a problem with payment not being scheduled. It's been 12 days since my first sale and there's no payment, and then 6 days since my second sale, again with no payment date. I've contacted all the relevant parties, but no one is giving me any information. I hope you can help me with this.

Sorry about this, but...
Welcome to dealing with GoDaddy!

@DomainRecap did you get this resolved?

"This transaction requires a "Change of Registrant" form to be filled and signed by you. A Transaction Assurance Agent will reach out to walk you through this in the next 2 business days."

Ocay.com is now valued at $28,227 under the updated appraisal system, which seems much closer to reality than the previous $5,872.
