Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Is there an issue going on curently about the number of views being shown even if one has clicked the button "Do not display parking statistics if fewer than 50 unique visits have been recorded the last 31 days?"

I put in a support ticket, but was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

Also, has there been any thought to simply eliminating the number of views on the offer page? Has there really been any benefit shown to presenting the number of views, whether above or below 50?

Regarding your question about traffic: Firs of all thank you for your feedback. In general, traffic numbers are a matter of individual buyers/sellers. Some find them very helpful.

Entered today at settings of account, completely changed, no way to set treshold limits, or more extensive like till amount ... to paypal else wire etc. These settings were very useful why you changed something that worked @Sedo

Sedo has been working to update and improve our payment processing. This is being done to both better our processing for our customers and to integrate new compliance matters for our daily business. Some of these changes have already taken place and others are ongoing.

With regard to the recent update to the payment details section, this area was simplified as many customers found the divided payment options and payout limit settings to be confusing. You can still set both a pay-pal or bank transfer option; however, only one will be active at a time for all outgoing payments.

Any new accounts will have the default payment limit for parking set to 20 EUR/USD. If an account already existed and had a payout limit set, that setting will carry over. Please note, if you do wish to change this amount it can only be through customer support and to the new default setting.

We do understand that some customers may miss the old setup, but we can assure you that all changes have been fully reviewed and were made in the interest of the majority of the marketplace. Positive changes such as increased payment in options have already been launched and further improvements are in the works.

Should you have further feedback we encourage you to send it to [email protected]. We wish to hear from all of our customers and their desires. Although we cannot meet every request, we do wish to make sure we are working to meet the desires we are able to fulfill.

Thank you for detailed reply.
However how contacting support to change an obvious setting and not have the ability to change it from panel is considered an upgrade? Is a downgrade for me

In order to remove your domain from parking you simply need to remove the Sedo name servers that you have entered at your registrars account and replace them with the name servers you require. Once the name servers are removed the park page will no longer show on a domain. ... The domain listing you have added at Sedo does not need to be changed in any way.

Thank you for your reply.

Once your domain has been verified and listed for sale, you no longer need to leave the name servers set as Sedo parking in terms of keeping them listed. However, in the case that you mentioned, if you would like to qualify for the lowest commission you will need to keep your domains parked with Sedo and the listing should be 'Buy Now'. If you successfully sell a domain with these two things in place, then the commission fee will be 10%.

For whatever reason (illness, internet doesn't work, etc...) the seller could be prevented from logging in in his Sedo account, so, after a buyer has clicked on "Buy Now", how much time do a seller have in order to react and start the transfer?
What happen to the seller - or to his Sedo account - if he doesn't react within the deadline?

In general, there is no set time frame for domain transactions to be completed as different tlds and even registrars/registries can have different processes and time frames.

If a seller is not responding to our transfer requests we will begin issuing warnings. If the seller still does not respond or react, we need to cancel. This all comes down to the responsiveness of the seller though.

If a seller is following up and showing they are working to transfer the domain more time can be given. If they are not responding and we have to cancel their Sedo account would be placed under review and the buyer would have the option to take legal action against the seller if they so wish.

We can confirm the vast majority of transactions complete without issue and if ever a buyer or seller has any questions about the time frame of the transaction or where it stands, they should follow up in the transfer center to speed things up.

To find your owner verification ID, please visit the "My Account" page and click on the tab 'General Settings.' There you can simply copy your ID by clicking the 'Copy ID'.

It looks like Sedo has changed the search page, and the result is not good. There are hardly any filters left now.

You cannot search for when a domain was listed or exclude hyphens and numbers. You can't search for special inventory either. So you can't easily search for Sedo's own auctions such as the current 3-letter auction, and the link on the front page leads to all names at auction.

Oh, and my saved searches have disappeared as well.

Sedo... this is the most backward thinking update I have ever seen. You can't even search for "starts/end with a particular keyword". And only showing 6 domains at a time, you have to manually click on "Show More Results". I mean, who is this update for? Change for the sake of change is not good especially when seemingly no thought is given to functionality, usability, and overall UX. Sedo finally gets the oppurtunity to take advantage of people wanting an alternative to Godaddy/Afternic and they go and do this? I've done a lot of buying on Sedo in past and this new setup is no longer usable. You guys need to higher some fresh young blood with forward thinking ideas instead of this crap you're looking to push. Hopefully this is just an accidental release of an Alpha product... yes... that's it.

Very true. Wanted to post here some things that Sedo should consider implementing, but... Looking at all the recent changes... just one question to @Sedo - does it make sense to spend time and efforts doing so?

While in the old pic details it says 'No initial fee, in the new details page under -Main menu- What we offer- price list, it says 'free' and the detail sounds like there will be no auction listing fee and only the commission. Was there commission on old model and now it's removed or same case or there was never a listing fee when listing a domain for auction after the first offer?

And the other issue with search results is, it never show .it.com extension domain names in the results. It always show availability of the respective keyword in few extensions and then shows availability of random keyword combination names in a selected list of extensions instead of the complete list of keyword.extensions availability.
You can check afternic search results once which show the availability of keyword in all extensions listed there.

Thank you for your comment.

There is no charge for starting a marketplace auction, so it is a free service. However, in order to start one, you must have received an offer on a domain directly through our standard marketplace. You can start the auction from that offer then.

The process for starting a Marketplace Auction is as follows:

  1. List your domain for sale in your Sedo account.
  2. Receive an offer from an interested buyer through the standard Sedo marketplace.
  3. Accept the offer as the starting bid and reserve price for your auction within the first 5 days of the 7-day binding offer period. This is usually "Option C" in the bid thread details when available.
  4. Wait to receive additional bids during the remaining time of the auction. Since you already have a committed buyer at the reserve price, your auction listing is guaranteed to result in a sale, even if no other bids are made.

Sedo, sorry for this comment. I love SEDO and love how you do things.

EXCEPT....your website redesign is terrible! REALLY stupid.

Remember, you build the website for your readers and users!
Web design is subjective, the design speaks to the reader/user...

the web design hits them at a ***subconscious level*** some folks don't realize they are getting a negative vibe from a website BECAUSE of the design.... colors, fonts, layout, sizing affects your customers! They just leave because they don't like it.

Give me back form and function.... the ability to select my search parameters....

Pretty and fluff is useless....Huge sections with huge graphics is wasted space. It slaps you in the face. I don't care how many people are watching a domain name.... the comment is clutter, distracting and useless.

Give me back the old SEDO!!!
