Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Who picks what domains go on Sedo premium auction?

Every week some how, there are always domains on there that shouldn't. I have applied many times only to be denied with "quality requirements not met". Yet domains like:

childrenspartys.co.uk (typo with a reserve????)

cheapviagra.com (can you say trademark)

nitshampoo.co.uk (gets like 800 exact keyword searches a month and is available in .net .org .info etc.)

make it. These are the ones I see accepted so far. Will likely see more in a couple weeks from now.

Anyone else amazed how stupid domains get on Sedo's premium auction?

I sold a domain today and the buyer wants an invoice. He isn't VAT registered. He is just a normal buyer. Why does sedo keep making life difficult for sellers.

I don't think you have to send an invoice. Every time the buyer requests an invoice I usually just ignore it. I still get paid every time.

Agreed. Sedo is very secretive about their criteria because I have sent dozens of names that have met their "criteria" only to be turned down. This past retail auction was a particular joke.

Question 2 : why doesnโ€™t sedo keep the sellers rights..
Question 3 : Is sedo the play ground for some people..
Question 4 : why cant sedo do anything to the people who donโ€™t obey the rules..

Question 9 : Isnt it the rule that who gives a bid to any domains has to buy and pay the full fund.If not I have and keep my right to give bids all the running auctions but in the end I will not pay for that..who can force me..If sedo doesnโ€™t force anyone or has any rights to force anyone,how can they be believable..
Here's another question, "Why did Sedo cancel my account after I won an auction?" I wasn't given a chance to even pay for domain. The same day I won the auction and my account was cancelled, the domain I won (littlecigars(.)net) was moved to Fabulous. When my wife used her account to contact Sedo, they canceled her account and kept the $50 she was owed for clicks on her sites. I'm wondering if I should sue all parties involved for breach of contract. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Mine did that too a while back. So, I got into notepad and typed my name, the domain, and the cost and sent it. It was approved. It took me 20 seconds. The buyer ended up not wanting the name but the name was already in escrow and so was his money - so he pushed for more steps eg: making me do the invoice. So, I gave him his quick notepad invoice.

Sedo approved ;)

Contacting Sedo

Does anyone have any contacts at Sedo that respond fairly quick? I made a mistake earlier and need someone's urgent assistance. I've written 2 contacts I've had from before, but no luck and their help system doesn't seem to have anything useful. The only phone number I've found requires a phone call to Germany.

Who pays the domain transfer fees when a domain is sold on Sedo?

Hi,

I am new in the forum. Just wanted to know about domain sales in Sedo. If the seller has a domain registered on a Registrar 'A' but the buyer wants to have that domain on Registrar 'B', then who will pay the domain transfer fees from one registrar to another. Please reply in terms of sale on Sedo and other platforms. Thanks
