Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Hello,

As we continue to improve our new Offer page, there have been a few minor glitches, and these are currently being sorted out in our system.

I have not received any complaints or information regarding related links not working properly. If this is still an issue for you, please send me a PM and I will work to have this issue resolved for you.
-Stephanie

Hi, it looks like the first issue has now been fixed, I'll send you a few examples of the related links problem but I can't remember all the domains its happened on, there's alot :(

got a .23c click on one of my domains. Only ever had about five before this one and they were for .02c or .07c.

Sedo ought not to blacklist political domains.

Why not "blacklist" those pages and pages of Google TM domains up for auction?

What about those p0rn0 domains?

Instead, you'd rather muffle protected free speech.

I wouldn't trust Sedo with anything.

I have pulled all my domains from your lame parking program.

Good riddance.

Hi,

Sedo has made a business decision to remove any and all domains that include the names of (American) presidential candidates or other (American) politicians during the election year. This decision was made approximately one year ago and has become more apparent now that the presidential election is two months away and registration of these domains has spiked. This removal process is ongoing and will continue as new domains are discovered.

While Sedo strives to protect our usersโ€™ rights to exercise free speech and maintain a marketplace with a vibrant and diverse collection of domain names, Sedo does not endorse or disparage any political candidate or party. We have therefore made the decision not to allow such domain names in the marketplace or parking program. This decision, however, is not intended to dictate the business of others; rather, it is intended only to affect business conducted through Sedoโ€™s services. Domain owners and investors may still work with these domains elsewhere at their discretion.

Although we respect any discussion regarding this matter, this is a final decision and will not be reversed because of continued debate. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause but ask for your cooperation and understanding.

My cooperation in this matter has been limited to the removal of all my domains from your company.

And that is my final decision.

You think that some mucky-muck threatened them, like whacking their corporate kneecaps?

I can't imagine that this decision was based on anything ethical.

That's some great SENSE of BUSINESS. Would You mind removing all domains that include all dictionary words starting with A,B,C,D? It would be great fun and people will appriciate this.

It's called DESTINATION HELL. Since Sedoparking is far worst parking (revenue is just rip-off comparing to anyone else) now it's time to f**k-up MARKETPLACE with some prehistoric ideas.

Got a glitch ....

A name I recently added (8-14-08)
to SEDO showing the infamous:

We are currently verifying the following domains:
domainname.com

For about 2 weeks now. The whois has changed and reflects my info. The bid page has 6 views and 1 bid. WordTracker is over 1400 so I assuming there is some PPC income going ??? The page opens to a SEDO parked paged but it is not in my account yet. Could be a previous owner and I understand that. At what point do I get the credit for traffic rev (if any) and access to bid/bids durring this transition time (8-14-08)

My question is about the bid. Will I see that? Will it be forwarded to me?

Send an email to ownerverification(at)sedo.com

if that doesn't get it done...

log into Sedo and under Services hit Customer Support and submit a ticket, anytime I have sent one of those from inside my account Monica or Keith has it added within 1-2 days, I usually throw a link to domain tools whois in my email as well to make verification easy for them.

You won't receive any offers or ppc revenue until it is listed in your account, may wanna ask them if that offer showing is a old offer or a new offer, if it's a new offer I'm sure they can forward that offer your way once in your account although it may already come attached when the domain transfers into your account, if it's an old offer from a previous owner then it's probably expired and won't transfer over, as far as ppc income goes you would have to debate that point with them if you feel that you lost significant revenue and they may be able to apply any earnings to your account.

.

You can change the related links to be whatever you want for each language (if you are a Sedopro member). When you go to the domain optimization page, and edit your related links, the language it defaults to is the language/country it has gotten the most traffic from. On the bottom, where it says "Apply" then "On this language only". Use the dropdown menu to make your changes on the other language too. If you want to see what related links are currently active for any particular language or you want to make unique related links for various languages, just click on the drop down menu titled: "Edit Links for Language:". Change it to the language or country you want and it will change to that language, so you can see what is currently being used and can make changes to only that language.

Sparedomains got this one exactly right. I will add, that if you are a Sedopro member, you can just email your account manager from the email associated with the domain and he or she will fix it for you.

This often times occurs when someone tries to add a domain that is already listed in someone's account. Next time, don't wait for 2 weeks. 2-3 days is enough to email them about it. Just keep in mind that Saturday and Sunday don't really count.

Are you allowed to advertise in your description? For example, LUHD.com is online domain portfolio of available short domains I have for sale. Can I say "visit luhd.com for all of my available short domains" in my description?

Thanks.

I think that you are only allowed to tell people to visit the sales page for luhd.com. So, for example, rather than sending them to luhd.com, send them here https://sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=luhd.com&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us

Thank you, and Sleepys, for the input. I did send the email and am waiting a reply. I don't normally have an issue with this and your right after 3-4 days I should have gotten on it.

This should not be a problem so long as the domain is not linked to a parked page. However, you may want to paste the domains you also have listed within our marketplace in your description. Our system to will automatically link your domains to their corresponding offer pages.

I think that I misread his original question. So, your response is only in regards to placing links in our "Sedo Description", right? If we were to advertise a name for sale somewhere else, for example here on Namepros, we would want to use a link to the listing, right?

No, as far as I know, that would not be allowed.

Hunh? I'm confused now.

If I have parked domains that are also for sale, I can't post a link to their SEDO for-sale listing from, say, the parked page (if it's not parked at SEDO) OR my own website?

On the Offer page you may link to your own website.
