Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Search Engine for Domain Offers...

So I'm guessing Sea Dough.

I always saw it as Say Dough.

Keith, why do some of my domains now show a totally different parking page than the one I have set ?? (even though the preview button shows the right one)

More importantly, why is the "this domain is for sale" link missing ??

One of them is AscotHotels.c** - I have never seen a page like that at sedo before !

I assume it is a sedo parking page still because the nameservers are still set to yours.

Whats going on ?

Thanks

I got this answer from my rep when asking:

page has just gone in to testing which is why you have just seen it.

Basically, expect some new landers fairly shortly.

Can sedo lameos please stop making $60 offers, on domains that are worth thousands, sheesh domain gets 700 uniques per week, one word generic, $60 offers, I counter at low $xx,xxx, they counter $75, i close the thread. Won.com going up for auction at sedo check it out.

Ahhh, Thanks, lets hope they are more search engine friendly instead of just puuurdy

So in the meantime they have decided that some of my domains are no longer for sale....hmmm :|

Hello,

I have just been wondering how to pronounce "Sedo"? I have always said "Sea-dough" but recently thought that it may be "See do". Any insight?

Thank you :)

Hi VYFX

Both "Sea Dough" and "Say Dough" are acceptable ways to pronounce Sedo. However, the more common version is the first. Even I use both at times. :)

Hi trlsker01,

You shoudl avoid paying for any sort of promotion of your parked domains, or hyperlinking to them from external sources. If you have questions about acceptable traffic for Sedo's parking program, please email [email protected].

Hi Gazzip,

We are always testing variations on current landing page templates. For the time being, try choosing an alternate lander to see if it makes a difference. If not, let me know. The feedback is alwasy helpful. Don't worry, though, your domains would still be for sale, bu the link may not be present.

Have a great day!

Always,
Keith

That was the first thing I tried before posting but it did'nt make any difference.

If someone types the name in to see if its taken they cannot see it is for sale .... that is a problem.

I just checked another name that usually has related ads on it - now it shows no ads and the message:

No results found. Please try a less specific keyword or a different category.

Any idea when this will change back to normal because its wasting my traffic and loosing me money ?

Hi Amir,

It's a bit ambiguous in a case like this, but we ask that you avoid asking or paying others to visit your parked domains, be it by entering your domain into their browser, or through a PPC program/link exchange, etc. Basically, if you've solicited traffic, we won't consider it natural. I'd recommend sending a message to [email protected] (if you live in the US/Canada) or [email protected] (if you live outside of the US/Canada). From there, we can put you in touch with a member of our Traffic Quality Management team for more answers about traffic.

You should make sure that you are not driving or encouraging traffic in any way to your parked domains. This helps to protect the integrity of the parking program, the integrity of your traffic statistics, and also helps to increase the positive reputation that domain parking has among sponsors and advertisers. The more confident they are in the traffic, the more they'll pay!

Always,
Keith

Hi gazzip,

If I'm not mistaken, several of these issues have been addressed - most notably, the missing "buy this domain" link. If you find that it is still missing, please let us know with specific examples so that our tehcnial staff can make appropriate changes.

Hi Amir,

So long as you are not hyperlinking to the parked domain, notifyin people of it's sales status is completely fine. Furthermore, you can link interested buyers directly to the offer page (here: http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=paycommission.com&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us)

Take care all!

Keith

We have had a second tier ad provider in place for some time. Our team may be testing new providers, but I don't have any additional information on that. Sorry!

My Sedo account is all f**ed up.

First:
I have had this showing up for about a month - maybe more "We are currently verifying the following domains: ....

All of these domains are in my name - what's the problem?

Second:
What's with all these red exclamation points? They are showing up on domains that have long been sold and deleted from the account. Or they have been moved to another parking provider.

I find myself re-deleting this stuff and it is still there.

How can a person keep track of their parking portfolio at Sedo? They are showing way more domains in my account than are actually there. Deleting does not work.

Has anyone else noticed that a few days ago that Sedo parking revenue suddenly dropped by around 70%? My revenue is pretty consistent, and so it's easy to clearly see that it's now consistently lower.

Thanks.
