Hey guys,
I have been on Sedo for about 3 months but I had been having issues with uploading my membership certificate until 2 days ago. That day I sent them Brokerage services team a domain name (Piling.de) which I wanted them to help me sell.
Just yesterday, I tried to log in to my account and discovered that my account has been closed. I reached out to their support team via mail yesterday and they couldn't give a reason for the account closure. This was their response:
"Unfortunately we can not give you more information about our internal checks. We will not be able to re-open your Sedo account."
My only guess is that this is just an indiscriminate approach of driving Africans (particularly Nigerians) out of their site. But you can castigate an entire country just because of some few bad eggs.
Please can someone help me reach out to them to know the reason for my account closure even if they don't have any intention of reopening it?

PS: I have not listed a domain name here so it isn't even about fraud or any criminal activity. I feel so frustrated.

Find attached our mail conversations

Like any service, It's at their (Sedo's) discretion. It wont help you trying to paint a discriminatory picture as a defence. My first guess is your email address has rung some bells or your ID 'verification' Trying to make things-out as being desperate is definitely a No-No.

You've burnt your bridges with Sedo, learn from the exercise and move on. As in any communication work to the mindset of the recipient, Not your own

Obviously, I don't have a choice than to move on. But you will agree with me that its quite unfair to deactivate ones account without a reason. It's courtesy.
I agree I appeared desperate there which was totally wrong (heck, what was I thinking). I had done some researches on Namebio and I noticed that 95% of .DE extension names were sold at Sedo. Hence, my reason for such act.
Any ways life goes on. Thanks for the advice

What is that ? You mean a birth certificate or some proof of ID ?
Its a certificate which was sent to my box stating my name, location and their terms and conditions. All they needed from me was to sign against my name (kind of a more formal option than clicking the T&c check box). After signing, I scanned and sent it back to them.

Although this sucks for you, I don't see it as a major loss to be honest. Sedo isn't necessarily the best place to sell anyway.

Hmm...๐Ÿค”.. Is there something I'm missing here. Aside from sending mails( because I can't write German) to end users, and using Sedo, what other strategy can you advise me to use to sell .DE domain names?

Hello guys, Sedo has finally reopened my account. We related via Twitter. Apparently, I was the one at fault. I opened an account years ago which I abandoned (I never listed any name on it). Late last year I decided to open a new account with my 2nd email, even though I had forgotten that I initially had an account there.
Thanks to people that responded to my rants on this thread and also for the advice.

I have been sent out 4 emails/tickets in the past week or 2 with certifications to certify my account. They didnโ€™t reply a single word. Do they stop accept new members now?

out on Twitter, Ask your friends to help you retweet it. I'm sure they will take your case serious then. I leveraged on Twitter to get my issues resolved, you can give that a try.

You forgot? So you went thru the registration process again, rather than click forgot password?

Good on sedo for catching that, I would say they did their job in protecting the integrity of their platform.

Having two usernames on any auction platform is always a dangerous thing, even at namepros, I have seen this abused.

In this case, glad they reopened your account, sound like an honest mistake on your part.

I would agree though, having two accounts for the same individual is " uncalled for in most cases".

Even here at NP, I noticed a few.. Can't figure out why.
