Hey everyone, I received an email from Sedo today :

"We identified potential buyers for one or more of your domains - see list below! Now is the time to get your names in front of these interested buyers.

How to make these buyers see your domain:

Simply list your domains with "Buy Now" prices. Once you’ve set a fixed price for the names we’ve listed in this email, we will market these to the identified users. Strategic targeting of buyers will increase your chances of making a sale many times over!"

They then list 3 eligible domains, but all of them are already listed with a buy now price...
So is this an email they send from time to time to users or do they have some actual leads for these domains?

Thank you for your help!

sounds like an email template that they send out blindly in the hope to get more buy nows and thus more sales

Alright, Thank you. Just seemed weird that they specified only 3 domains which already have the BIN set.
Guess I got my hopes up for nothing :-D

I believe its names that received offers in the past, and when you set it at buy now price they send out the new price to people who have made offers in past at make offer price, but now with the (buy now price)

only on two.

Thanks, at least we know it's not the same random email being sent to everyone.

I'll try to reset the BIN, maybe that will trigger something in their system to send the emails.

Hi everyone,

just wanted to chime in shortly.

It might be that you received this email, although you already have fix-priced the domains mentioned(Oops). That's not a bad thing though, because that means you're already participating in our promotion.

The domains are selected if one of our partner registrars (that does SedoMLS marketing) has a customer with the same domain name in a different TLD. Our partners then reach out to the owners, making them aware there's a similar domain (same keyword, different TLD) available at a fixed-price (i.e. your domain name).

Hope that clarifies it.

I would set a bin, but that $10K cap won't allow it.

I asked my representative. It is apparently a sales effort with a Sedo MLS partner. If you sell via that partner, the fee is an outrageous 20%.

I had a laugh and then said nope.

After that I logged in to my Sedo account to double-check that I disabled the Sedo MLS Premium on all my buy-now domains. I dont want to run the risk of having to sell a name with a 20% fee.

Yes exactly, the Sedo MLS Premium program. With a 20% fee. If people are happy with paying a 20% fee, that is fine, but I think it is outrageous. The added value that Sedo offers for me as a broker or escrow provider imo is not worth 20%. The same goes for the supposed increased exposure of my names within the partner network.
