Sedo’s partners will promote your domain names to targeted prospects.

Earlier this week some domain name investors received an email from Sedo with “Buyers identified” in the subject line.

The email lists one or more eligible domain names and requests that domain owners add a fixed price for each one.

All good and well but the problem is that the domain MUST have a fixed price and not "make and offer". Now the problem is that Sedo won't let you list a domain for more than $10 000 unless they appraise it to be worth more than that OR if their cr@ppy pricing suggestion tool, says it's worth more. So if your domain is worth $40 000 but Sedo's pricing suggestion is $5000 then they won't let you list the domain for more than $10 000 on a fixed priced. Their pricing suggestion tool is as reliable as Estibot. We all know what means... Why they insist on this dumb@ss model remains a mystery to me.

List it somewhere else at fixed price above 10k, if the buyer types in the name and ends up on another site they can buy it from the other site.

Yeah thats basically what I do... I don't list my "hot property" on sedo on fixed prices mainly because of the pricing restriction.

Lol...yeah one would think they could have managed to get that sorted out by now...but I wonder if it's more of a case of them not wanting to "sleep with the enemy" or their competitor in this case.

Suggestion and I've mentioned this before . Tell me if this would work

In the description say that this domain has a website (sold separately )

Website and all contents for $132,000
Check website while still available. ( No guarantee of availability)

Domain= Make offer.

Given that description how many visitors out of 100 you think would visit the domain address?

And when they do. They should be taken to your "outside of Sedo" listing where you've priced your domain above $10k

What do you think?

My hamster is on crack 247 spinning spinning that wheel! Lol

But would sedo proofread our descriptions? That's the real question right?

And you like that (no guarantee of availability) clause ? Lol

When they do go to the domain address and find just your listing page. It's just understood the website content was sold (if there ever was one to begin with :xf.wink:) and now only the domain is available for purchase for $100k lol

Watch out SPCA dont track you down using ur WHOIS info and charge you for hamster abuse. (feeding crack to your hamster) :)

Hmm I don't think Sedo would actually check the descriptions. Off course I could be wrong...lol, I think they have too many domains listed to check each description...

Lol true true. But would something like that idea go against sedo rules?

I mean could a domain listing blatantly ask visitors to go check out the domain address where you obviously have an outside listing?

I don't know for sure but I would imagine it's against their TOS.

Yea exactly but the wording of mine is kinda sneaky. Not exactly telling people to check it out. Just letting them know you want big money offers since your website is priced at $132k or some ridiculous number like that.

So long as you omit that "go check out my domain"

It's understood they should check it out.

Shoot if someone says the website content is $132k?

You know damn well even if I have no intention of of buying my nosy self will check it out.

It's human nature to be curious.

At the very least you get traffic.

You'd think any serious buyer would always visit the domain itself to see what's there, but it appears that's not always the case.

If they did you'd simply park the domain with the company who charge the least commission and fees, and simply use listings on other sites to draw traffic to the domain.

At least twice I have seen people sell domains that they had listed on Sedo and then dropped - the buyer bought it on Sedo, the previous owner re-registered it and handed it over to the buyer. So no, people do not check.

Yeah it's crazy this is even possible, but I guess some people don't even consider checking first.
