For 5 SEDO auctions I won for .mobi domains, sale was canceled.

Sellers with no reason gave no response to sedo mails. I tried to contact them, but no response too.

Those 5 sellers are often in DNF and NAMEPROS. Some of them still selling domains on sedo. SEDO don't take measure against their accounts.

Some namepros users had same problem with sedo auctions or others auctions ?

That's not a good sign. A deal is a deal (in my eyes). Did you try to contact them by pm ?

same trouble on afternic and here on namepros

I bought an name on afternic and after i had paid for the name the seller backed out of the deal. Then i tried to purchase a name here on namepros.
After i agreed on the listed price the buyer then wanted to send the name to auction.
Oh well what is meant to be , will be.

no because I only know recently their are namepros user. And some are well-know namepros users.
I saw domain names when try to sell them again in threads.

In all 5 the only domain I don't want to lose is ccc.mobi, and my laywer is contacting sedo laywer to try to take it or negociate transfert. No response from the owner to sedo mails and phonecalls.

mmm...I hate to hear this. It's quite easy. If you don't want to sell 'cheap', just set a higher reserve...

Good luck with it !

I know... and I don't like be forced to use lawyer.
But It's too easy, you put it on auction with no reserve for get more bids and if price is no good you don't sell it...
The problem is when guys try to sell it again on forums. They will recognize themselves

If you are sure they are on this forum I would simply mention their names here and ask them to explain what happened in their point of view.

If they are honest people, they shouldn't have any problem with that. And if they are not, it is good for us to know who they are.

why not ?
I certainly will do it by PM. But except for ccc.mobi (personal reasons) I don't want to "denounce" someone. I just want they watch the thread and don't do the same thing for another sale.

I think sedo is very "light" with this problem and with fake bids problem.

I've had the same problem with sedo as a seller. I sent a name to auction, and then when it came time for the buyer to pay, he backed out. I called sedo talked to them, and they will be making some changes and updating the process.
Similar to ebay, they will rates the buyer and sellers.

yea it sucks , a very common problem, but as others have said it's usually the buyers backing out - i've had it happen to me and because they do actually enter into a contract sedo will provide you with the contact info they have on the other party.

Afternic is a bit better. I had a similar case there, where the buyer said "I cannot pay because I sold a name myself on another place which was never paid for so now I can not pay for my purchase myself."
Lousy excuse, so Afternic cancelled the account.

When I say I have a problem for 5 domains, I forget to tell you I had a problem for others domains on sedo auction.
For those domains I contacted the seller and he explained me the problem (sedo,busy...).

For the 5 domains no response and no explains. I will contact them by PM soon.

That would be great, but they're also going to have to start identifying the buyers before the seller agrees to anything, then (which would be a good thing as well) -- otherwise, it wouldn't give the seller a chance to opt not to deal with that person.

To solve this Sedo needs to put in place a fee for cancelations for domains bought, a penalty if you will. If you bid on a name and back out or if you make a bid and the buyer backs out, 10% goes to the injured party, (not Sedo) but the person who got wronged.

Just to much of this going on and it is a big waste of time for all involved. Plus the penalty a feed back rating should be in place.

That is disturbing Colombani.

Perhaps you can list the 5 MOBI domains (i.e. ccc.mobi) and in turn, we can conduct a search via NamePros to determine the identity of the suspects.

Colombani --

If you want to pursue this, and these guys are located in the US, you can sue them here and you would win with 100% certainty. (Outcome would be for them to give you the domains at the agreed upon price).

No I don't want to pursue them, except for ccc.mobi because it seems the owner is a recidivist with sedo and I need this domain.

Very good idea.

I worked for years in realestate.
In france when you sign a contract for buying a home and you don't want to legalize it, automatically 5 or 10 % goes to the injured party with possibility of lawsuit.

it's true for the buyer and the seller.

I like too the possibility of rating for seller and buyer like ebay

If we are talking about members on DNF and Namepros, then I would also like to know who they are. Why?

Because my first purchase on Namepros was a "no" purchase. The seller set a BIN and I purchased at BIN but the seller chose to sell it to someone else who posted BIN 30 minutes later. Reason? the other buyer had a higher feedback rating.

I am actively buying on both forums and if there are issues with these members, I would like to know. These are not the type of people I want to deal with. And I may in fact be dealing with many of these jerks who are not responding to PM's and run perpetual auctions or sales that never seem to end.

As for Sedo...I have stopped buying from them. Not one purchase has taken less than 34 days to transfer. And that is the least amount of days.

Sedo does not even enforce their own damn rules and guidelines...with both buyers and sellers. Their buyer verification is a joke.
