Sedo was down just a few minutes ago and it looks like they've made a few changes.

Among them .mobi no longer figures among the common extensions in the drop menu. :(

.name shows instead!!

I'm not sure how to interpret this... Has there been a fallout between mTLD and Sedo, or is it just that they've finished with the premiun auctions? :-/

lol
it's a glitch
send them an email
main thing is not the dropdown , its when you run a search on a keyword or name whatever, on right hand side, under 'common extensions' , .mobi is still proudly sitting there :sold:

negative on that.

next to search bar for keywords, on the right, is the dropdown from were you choose the extension. .mobi is no longer under 'common extensions'.

at least on my computer... let me know if you all see it ok and the glitch is with me.

i've already written sedo about it

I havent been able to even get onto sedo today so I am guessing they are tinkering with their site. On a side note, I would be really annoyed if I had an auction closing right

It's not there Arnie, just checked sedo.co.uk as well - same thing.

IMHO you may need to swing into action again and pull a few strings:)

Having said that, this time Sedo probably need to hear from many more mobi owners.

I don't have a single name in the 'closing soon' section, but those who do - and currently there seem to be very many of them - should realize that now there is practically no way for the casual browser to notice that their .mobi auction is closing soon (and isn't that the whole purpose of risking bidder remorse to send a domain to auction?).

I know this affects everyone, but those who wanted to ride the wave of interest in the premium auctions are most affected - right now there are 669 domains in that closely watched 'closing soon' section. The average visitor's eyes would probably glaze over before one can say needle in a haystack.

Arnie, this sounds similar to the cat defect in the Matrix - are you sure you disconnected properly?

Hi, I am new to the forum...and a large holder of domain names...over 13,000...I was reading the information above about the mobi dropdown, so I just called the Sedo customer support and left them a message to call me back. I am interested in having my names appraised. Since I am new to the forum...and want to follow proper protocol, can someone give me a few hints that work best. Any help would be appreciated. When Sedo does return my call, I will share some their answer since I am sure it is important for many of us. Thanks...mobi magic

Welcome mobi magic, and thank you - a running start with an impact!

Regarding hints: if you mean hints on appraisals, I can offer a few on what not to do.

Same with selling, but you probably already have a few of those yourself.

13k, wow!

P.S.: If you meant hints that work best in becoming a popular member of NamePros (or any other general domaining forum for that matter) IMHO most of us mobiers would probably not be the best source of advice on that one I'm afraid - or not yet anyway.

.mobi is a global extension - biting one of the major hands that feeds them!

I sent Sedo an email, regarding this matter. I really hope they respond. We all want to to know why they would do this. :(

It's not Arnie. And common extensions is on the left(the drop down menu -advanced search.)

I don't see this as a big deal. It does seem somewhat odd that this would occur during the middle of the auction unless this was a glitch.

Either way, I don't really see this negatively affecting .mobi one way or the other. Most of us have already made up our mind on .mobi...

A Sedo E-mail Response to a Member from another forum.

Thank you for your email and bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize for the short time when the .mobi extension was removed from the common extension options in the advanced search. This was a short minor glitch in our system that has since been resolved.

The .mobi extension has been moved back up into the list of common domain extensions in the advanced search. Sedo certainly understands the value of the .mobi domain extension and wants nothing less than to see this extension succeed in the marketplace.

Thanks and best of luck in the marketplace!

Looks like we got it back where it belongs!!!
Thanks Sedo
