Sedo Appraisal on my domain

Listed my domain on Sedo. The listing tool they have told me the value was greater than $10,000 and to list it for over $10,000 I would need an appraisal.

I'm debating on paying the $100 as I truly think this domain is actually worth $10,000 or more, but I'm just curious what the pros and cons of getting an appraisal is, and what people's experience is.

The domain by the way is BANKS . Money

Thanks

You can go 9999$, "make an offer" then counter offer as high as you want.

Okay, some of those make sense. I just picked up, ANNUITY .money, which definitely makes sense gramatically.

Definition- An annuity is an insurance product that pays out income, and can be used as part of a retirement strategy

Definition- An annuity is any continuing payment with a fixed total annual amount

Do you know what it means when you have to explain a name?

And to OP, Sedo are telling you what you want to hear. This is a company that is currently scamming buyers with fake IDN. What do you think?

house money
bar money
alcohol money
pot money
internet money
amazon money
monopoly money
game money
baseball money
Reg them all and see what they appraise for.

You don't have to explain ANNUITY MONEY, most people know what it means

But you did!

To demonstrate it's relevant...ANNUITY MONEY, the money you have coming into to live on after retirement

Quit being so hard on the OP honestly, half the new gtlds don't make grammatical sense but people still reg and buy them and if he can sell it for anywhere near 10k good luck to him but I do agree that paid appraisals are worthless.

Also I understand annuity.money just fine.

Being honest here, half the people here would reg every available similar term if it sold for $1k> regardless if it made sense, so yeah stop being obtuse lol

Actually not the OP, just posted the name in the OP's thread.

I too know exactly what annuity means having been in the business for some 30 years before retiring some years ago.

I was simply pointing out that if you have to qualify a name with descriptions and references etc it often means you personally don't have a lot of confidence in it?

If I did not have confidence in it,I wouldn't have bought it.

Good for you I wish you luck. Just basing my comments on a few years of experience.

A domain is only worth what someone wants to pay for it.
This is not true, just because I'm willing to pay 500$ for Insurance.com will they give me that name?

I think what they meant was, you cant use a computer generated appraisal from Estibot etc to determine a value. If Estibot determines a value to be $260, but you sell if for $2000, the Person that bought it actually determined a value for it

Exactly my point, well said.

They make $$$ from selling YOUR property. IMHO, the $100 for appraisal means they make $100 off of you for doing nothing, whether your domain sells or not. You think lots of time and effort goes into domain appraisals? Heck, I'll give you an "appraisal" for $50. Then I'll list your domain "For Sale" on one of my pages and if someone buys it, great, I'll make more money off of you. If no one buys it, I've made $50 off of you. Either way, I win.

Still want to pay for an "appraisal?"

Or for free....namepros has an appraisal section (two actually).

I don't know what it will really be worth but I know that in an extension called .money, it must be one of the better ones.
and that is why it only has 2203 registrations to date. Sorry, but what you 'think' must be a good extension.. doesn't mean it is. And imo, in the new gTLD scheme of things, this extension is more 'fools gold', than it is 'investment grade gold'.

Their listing tool isn't worth the drive space it occupies. They almost certainly won't manually appraise it over $10k. I just listed two 3 letter .com domains on Sedo. Their listing tool suggested I price them at $699 and $3999. Yes, $699. And, no, I didn't take their suggestions.

Listed my domain on Sedo. The listing tool they have told me the value was greater than $10,000 and to list it for over $10,000 I would need an appraisal.

Do you hear "annuity money" in a sentence like you do for "borrow money" "spend money" "make money" "loan money" ? I don't but I'm not native english so I might be mistaken. But I think it's the same as "banks money". Never heard it in a sentence.

It appears you wrote the reply I was preparing. I have been in acounting/finance busness for 8 years in senior/managerial positions and I never heard or read or saw someone use that word. But everyone sees things in a different way.

Why do you think that for the domain to be successful, it has to read as a phrase or sentence? If you have been in business in accounting/financing for 8 years, and not seen the word ANNUITY used by anyone, that's shocking. Just Google ANNUITY, there are tons of sites, blogs, advice columns, all kinds of Ads, etc, everybody from Nationwide, to Prudential to Fidelity, to CNN, etc... If somebody wants to find out about Annuity related products, service, or advice and they search the .money ext, this will be an easy domain to find
