basicly, while talking to him told me the licence was valid, etc etc, everything seemed file, done the transaction, site got hacked a week later, had a very close look - it was a warez copy of ipb, and they had backdoors in it. Also empted all the posts and deleted all the users, and redirected to their new boards. Pretty pissed

The namepros member was smurf.

Have contacted paypal about it, and there trying to tell me that's ok (what he did - please no told ya so's about pp - think it might of been a miscomunication to some degree - have sent an email to support). Also Contacted the Oline crime website (www.ic3.gov), also contacted his isp. and also contacted the adcompany they are using on their new forums. only thing left to do now is to contact the hosting provider (just thought of it).

It pisses me off that people do this type of stuff.

Paypal do not do refunds on goods delivered electronically.

Just a note but if I remember correctly you can actually contact IPB and ask if a license is valid (as can be done with vbulletin). I know it does not exactly help you now but may help on future.

The Laws in Australia are usally alot more stricher then in the usa about this type of stuff, i just logged in, and there was a screen asking me if i wanted to take it further with paypal Australia, which of course i said ues to.

They still wont do an electronic refund due to the fact that evidence can easily be fabricated. The only way to do it is say it was an illigal transaction to your CC company.
