The best "prediction" - own performance by your portfolio... where you can clearly see what is going on...

Yes, renewal is not always premium (but usually), it may be standard... like in .top/.club - but these TLDs are really weak in terms of enduser demand...

p.s. And for me - it doesn't look like investment at all, de facto it looks like sponsorship - when I analyze my results...

Actually I am not convinced that he owns any new gTLDs since his comment :

All real "killers" (MEGA and TOP keywords) are Premiums in all nTLDs... or at least 90% of them...

Shows that he really don`t know much about new gTLDs.

He is selling what he is selling. He has so many .com domains, even bad ones, that he has to defend why they are better even when they are not.

Of course for the super premiums, .com commands more money, but to say that everything else is junk is just nonsense. And it's far too early to make that determination.

Once people, if they ever do, become as comfortable as domainers with extensions other than .com, the playing field will be more equal. It will take some time though. Right now, other extensions do lose traffic to .com. People just automatically use .com. But that could change.
