I only partially agree with Rick on this one. Someone mentioned the "sillier" extensions will disappear. That is the part I agree with. I think some newer gtlds are here to stay. The best evidence for this is adaptability by search engines and users.

And .com running out of space. I personally would rather have a design.xyz than a obscuredesigndomain.com

Watching that video of Rick, I got a much better picture of his style and how his mind works. (And his spelling errors ).

I agree with his strategy of registering domains that are somewhat "A business in a box". His point about registering domains that he could start a business with and people would immediately know what he does, is a great point. He looks at domain names as potential businesses. I agree.

I think he is somewhat behind the times, especially with respect to seo value of emd's but his basic rules about what is good LOTD is still valid.

"Why don't You show us the top 10% of your new gTLD portfolio".
Just simply talking about "100s of new gTLDs" doesn't give anybody an idea what kind of quality you own ?
