Loan names have been good to me. Earlier this year I had a couple of other sales:

I sold RIALoan.com and RIALoans.com for $2500 a piece. Inbound inquiry. Both two year old hand-registered. Escrow.com was used (That time I split the Escrow.com fee. I won't do that going forward.)

I recommend buying the singular and plural of your names, when possible. End users will usually want both to "lock down" a key word/term online. I tell them to keep the set together.

Got to share this without the name yet.

I just sold a name in less than 1 hour!

I regged a 6 letter CVCVCV .com for 88 cents in NameCheap's Black Friday deal. Threw it up on Sedo and Afternic real quick with a $499 BIN. Go an email within an hour from Sedo saying it sold!
1- Perhaps Luck
2- Wisdom and experience
3- Perhaps a Gem sold as a bargain.

Wish and bet for 2. Congratz dude! :)

And just to clarify as I am still a beginner on this world.
Inbound = customer email to you ?
Ountbound = you email a end user waiting for a sale?

Thank you.

king = .com

Using / helps hide the name from searches. Technically you could register a domain with dashes so I prefer the slash instead.

Thats why they say "List them as soon as you register them"

I must remember that as I don't list any as I just reg them and sit on them

Great sale! Please can you help with the background sale? I always like outbound background story.

1. Where did you find your prospect?
2. Did you include a price in your email?
3. Did you send with your Gmail or company email?
4. How many prospect did you contact and did the sale involve any followup?

Sorry for the prolonged questions. But I'll gladly appreciate if you can shed more light on this sale. Thank you

Hi, thanks.

1. I sold another web hosting domain name WebHosting*******.net for $6,900 USD in 2013 and the buyer didn't want Web Host Reviews dotcom at that time. A few days ago, I checked that WebHosting*******.net and found the ownership has changed. So I contacted the new owner and they are interested in Web Host Reviews dotcom then we negotiated a deal. During the negotiation I heard that the buyer who bought WebHosting*******.net in 2013 sold it to the new owner at a loss (sold for $2k) .

2. Yes, I included a BIN price in the email
3. Gmail
4. This is the only potential buyer I contacted.

@owntype Epic sale for a three words domain. Congratulations.
Domain name is definitely worth it.
Also thanks for sharing the sale insight.

@willtord congrats on the sale.
Do not see many keyword .in sales. Any idea where the buyer was from, India or elsewhere ?
How many .in names do you have in your portfolio, and how often do you make sales ?
Thanks.

Thanks @Primary Names

Buyer is Indian living in US I think but name was bought for hospital chain in India. It has to be said most of my good sales come from international buyers entering the Indian market though.

There are actually a lot of keyword .in sales happening but because domaining is still a bit of a grey area (from the point of view of India's registry), most people choose to keep their sales private. What you see reported here or on Namebio/DNJ is just a fraction of whats happening behind the scenes (as could be argued is the case with several other extensions).

I have a portfolio of around 800 names. In terms of sales, this year has been quiet, only 6 to endusers but quite a few to resellers. Last year was a bit better, think I averaged around an enduser sale a month and i made good XXXXX profit. As with all domaining though, sales depend largely on portfolio quality and price expectations... If I dropped my prices I would be selling a lot more but my faith in the future potential of .IN means I'm happy to sacrifice short term good ROI for what I believe will be longer term excellent ROI.

Cheers! :)

Domain Name: Lion//Mane in [king]
Sale Venue: Efty
Sale Type: inbound
Asking price: $1500
Sale Price: $425
Purchase/holding cost: $80 (GD expiring auction + 1 renewal)

Buyer contacted me over a year ago. Was the owner of .io name. Buyer walked away from $XXXX quote. Buyer is in Guatemala and stated that they were more concerned with making payroll.

About a year later no one else had inquired about the name so I reached back out to the buyer and negotiated the price.

Name might be worth more but this is probably my ideal buyer and had no other inquiries.
