where did it sell and how?

I had it on sedo the buyer contacted me through email. We used escrow.com. I bought it on godaddy auctions a few months ago for $550. Spent the money already on more domains: amazingjourney.com (plan to develop) and techable.com ( just bought today on name jet auction)

Buyer will be gifting the domain to someone with that surname. Not a large sale but it will cover several renewals.

Pro-tip: look at their sedo user account. if they just signed up that month and have zero activity otherwise, they probably just signed up to buy your domain. at that point, all you have to do is make a good estimate about their available funds/budget and seal the deal.)
