Proud to report my first ever outbound sale! Bought this one just a few weeks ago.

Cloud/Native dot net
Asking price: $699
Sale price: $699
Purchase price: $19 (GD closeout)
Paypal fees: $26
Profit: $654

I'm particularly stoked about this one because it's my first meaningful sale (i.e. first profit in the XXX range). Never thought it would be a .net!

Yeah, I was fortunate that the perfect end user was interested right away. Cloud Native has become a big buzzword term that some businesses focus on specifically (cloud native platforms).

Flipped S/h/o/p/p/i/n/g.Sc for $700 via Escrow. Regged it for just $35 at Alpnames.

The Story:

Originally was auctioning it at Flippa but Kevin refused to give it Editor's choice or even promote it on Email newsletter even though he promoted S/h/o/p/p/i/n/g.fm and L/o/a/n/s.sc (L/o/a/n/s.sc was being brokered by Domain Holdings).

I received the offer via Flippa message, immediately Googled the name and found his email and continued the negotiations.

The buyer kept delaying the payments too via paypal. I couldn't trust him so ultimately I sent him an escrow link and gave him an ultimatum and he made the escrow payment within 24 hours. I wouldn't recommend him as a buyer. Although desperate times call for desperate measures. :-/

No secret tricks involved, but simply starting to use the Afternic marketplace has helped increased my sales compared with using other marketplaces (I made the move to Afternic this spring). I do price every name with a BIN price so they show up in the registration path of Afternicโ€™s network of registrars. I also forward all names to www.afternic.com/domain/MYDOMAIN.com. The combination of type-in and syndication leads seems to be working quite well.
