Domain: D/e/m/a/t/e/r/i/a/l/i/s/e/r(.)fr
Price: 1500 euros (Buyer paid Escrow fees). ~$1700
Sale venue: outbound/inbound
Listing type: Fixed price,
Seller: me.
Details: - March 2016: I sent an email to some "dematerialisation" companies in France asking them if they were interested in acquiring my domain, they ignored my email.
- June 2016: I received an email from a guy who told me "It's seems that you are the owner of demat......fr, what is its price?" I replied "1500 euros", he disappeared for 10 days, then another guy sent me an email asking the price, my answer was the same, he offered 1000 euros, I told him that my price was fixed and I don't accept negotiation, so he said OK.
I'm sure that the two guys are the same one and they received my email in March 2016, because my whois information were private at Afnic.
I asked 1500 euros because ".com" domain price is $3895 and they didn't buy it, so in my opinion 1500 euros was the correct price for the ".fr"

All these were domainer mistakes. Feels good to get rid of them.

Win some. Lose some. Except, you always end up losing at Flippa. ;)

The guy who bought Broker.xyz got a deal.

I don't think HeadlinerMag and FavHearts were mistakes

I agree. H/e/a/d/l/i/n/e/r/Mag is a great domain name. Since Headliner.com and Headlinermagazine.com are both parked since years, I didn't see the point of renewing it for years to come. I don't know about F/a/vhearts. I thought it was a crappy name compared to rest of my portfolio. So included it in the portfolio auction.

Lol yeah, I have no idea why his post has so many likes... they didn't tell him the only mistake he made was selling so low :P

I don't think you read my post. It was an auction at Flippa. No matter what amount it sells for, I have to honour the sale.

Wow... you think B/r/o/k/e/r/Xyz.com is a mistake? Did you contact with Broker.xyz owner? You could have waited for some time and sell it for $x,xxxx easily.

You can even develop it to offer brokerage services specifically to .xyz sellers/buyers.

I own one such domain: Park/xyz.com which can be big if I develop/sell.

haha.. Yeah I don't develop. One of the things easier said than done. I have piles of domains that I want to develop but never get around it.

Secondly, I contacted the owner but didn't receive any reply. Broker.com, Broker.io, Broker.net all lie parked so I don't see Broker.xyz selling in the next 10 years or so to an end user. Since Broker.xyz sold for only $300 I didn't think Brokerxyz.com would fetch much. Also I think .xyz guys own Broker.xyz hence didn't want to renew something I wasn't sure about.

The guy who bought Broker.xyz got a deal.

I sold Brokerxyz.com, not Broker.xyz

2 Different domains.

Sorry.

Well, you shouldn't have placed your reserve so low.

But yeah, at least I guess... you got some of your money back.

I mean, as long as you break close to even, we can't really feel too bad or something. :)

Oh, okay. Yeah. I think it is good you dropped that one then. I am a fan of single keyword domains.

profitxyz.com, mamaxyz.com and tons of word+xyz word+club etc domains are available for hand-reg.. If you think that the owners of profit.xyz and mama.xyz (sold for 1,566 USD) would be interested in these then go for these tons of available domains. If they cared, they would've handregged those long-time ago.

They're not domainers :P so they don't realize profitxyz's potential :P ( I mean I don't even understand why people are buying LLLLxyz.com)

I don't understand why people always compare "Word.gtld" to "Word+gtld.com" !!

I agree @abdou01

A defensive .com purchase might make sense if it is for reg-fee. But investing in Word+gtld.com makes no sense at all.

you fetched that price based on GITEX which is teh one of the top 3 IT events globally, its pronounced exactly like your name but different spelling. Their event is upcoming in Q4 this year in Dubai and they spend millions in advertising, most probably they realized some people think the spelling is just like yours :) Great sale!
