Would you mind taking us through the entire negotiation process. I would really like to hear what the initial email was, how you responded, and then the back and forth negotiation.

I think this would be very valuable information for everyone here when someone contacts us asking if we would sell xyz domain we currently own.

The initial email was HOW MUCH? would you like for this domain.
I always answer I do not have a set price feel free to make an offer.
I was low balled with $100 offer.
I replied, we are not even in the same ball park.
3 days latter he replied with 2k offer.
THEN I SAID NO, NO, NO and guess what NO again untill we reached $20,000 and his message said "this is my clients final offer".
I knew I had to let it go at that point.

Well, I finally made my first sale using email solicitations.
All sales prior to this were sold the old fashion way with the buyer contacting me direct or through Sedo or Godaddy.
I sold two .coms for $2000 each, total $4000.
Money is now in escrow and just waiting for transfer instructions.
I hand reg'd these a few years ago.

All sales prior to this were sold the old fashion way with the buyer contacting me direct or through Sedo or Godaddy.
I sold two .coms for $2000 each, total $4000.
Money is now in escrow and just waiting for transfer instructions.
I hand reg'd these a few years ago.

Took about month for them to reply back from my first email and then a few days of negotiations to settle on price.
I started with $4500 each, they came back with $1000 then I cut in half to $2250 each and they came back with $2000 ea and I said ok.
They are in Europe so communications and time zones wasn't easy to deal with, but we got it done.

$2000 each was the price I actually wanted and I got it

Nice, thanks for the details. I can learn a lot from this since I haven't been able to pull in more than $1,200 off a sale and am probably lacking in the negotiation department.

Hopefully I can post a sale soon(no luck lately besides a $700 offer that I turned down).

It all depends on the domain.
In my opinion 360 is more popular then 247 or 365.

360 has more uses then the other two

365 means 365 days of the year.
247 means 24 hours 7 days a week.
360 means 360 degrees.

More meanings and uses in my opinion,

2. 360 degree Virtual tours
3. Customers to return back to the website again and again.
4. 360 is to come full circle.
5. World Wide
6. Total
7. Complete

Well, nice passive sale, though GoDaddy does charge a usurious 30% commission.

So that's only $700 nett.

Though I agree, not bad at all.
