These .us expired names "sold" on godaddy's domain aftermarket auctions today. These were the high bids on the ones that outbid me (the most I paid was $81). Some descent prices for .us names, and probably mostly wholesale buyers for resale. I would have bought a few more myself, if could have kept up with last minute bidding and also keep track of potential spending. Some of these were real bargains on good keywords.

hehe yeah, he/they outbid me a few times over at snap. I just checked on one of them and it's a redirect from their site to BuyDomains w/ a swarm of pop-unders. They're hardcore B/O grabbers specializing mostly in 3LL and 3Char amd longer acronyms, and judging by your list, they're turning up the dial.

Anyways, the theme of this thread is supposed to be sales that were made by NP members, but your sales info is so interesting, I think we should support and not discourage it. I'm going to open a thread in the Suggestions section:

Looks like we were doing the same thing at about 5:30 P.M. EST. I had a small warchest on hand for that big event, and acquired some gems, for about $XXX for each.

I'm not sure how godaddy's TDNAM service works, though. How long before we actually get these names in our account?

Oh, so it was you.... :D My best pickups were customersupport.us, cruiseships.us, and garagesale.us.

The FAQ says they don't release them for about 60 days.

The huge flaw in GoDaddy's system is that there is a good chance you will never get them. The current owner can, and often will, renew. In the meantime, if that happens, you are out your money and will have to wait for a refund. For example, someone won MBA.us for $1,250 and the owner renewed right after the auction. Now the guy is out his $1,250 for who knows how long. That happened with many other names as well. I think that is the primary factor keeping prices low. Very bad idea to auction names that are likely to be renewed IMO.
