I have tried two times to transfer a domain to RegisterFly. Both times it failed. Now when I goto try it againit says to check the domain and try again. I put in a support request with RegisterFly and finally got a reply from then that the domain was transfered and that its in my account and is good until 2007.

BUT I do not see it in my account and when I do a WHOIS on the domain it still shows as it being at the old register.

Another problem I am having is that today RegisterFly sent out a special for $3.75 domain transfers. Well I tried to transfer 3 domains to them. When I put the code in the promo box it tells me it found it and had updated my prices, WRONG! They still show $6.99. :(

I use to love NameCheap BUT they only offer WHOIS protection free for one year. I moved to RegisterFly for most of my domains because of the free for life WHOIS protection and discounts they are always offering. :(

Now when I try the Promo code I get a page saying "Unable to connect".

LOL Now this is funny. I got the email about the $3.75 transfers today at 3:06 AM. I tried it and it said found it and updated the prices. But it didnt. Support answered my request and said the special is over. How? If it was sent at 3:06 am and its only 12 hours later..... it has not been 24 hours...

Sorry for crashing your thread Zurax, back OT....
I guess the real question is:
WTH are you doing in the first place, transfering IN to Regfly?

My control panel currently says I have 754 domains there. It also says I have 41 expired domains. The "expired" ones all were transferred to other registrars in May. As of sometime in May, I actually had about 725 domains there. I've transferred about 300 away in the last 45 days, and the count has not changed one bit. I asked tech support to clean up my account of names not at RF, but they just ignored the request.

If you keep names at RF, you better not rely on their control panel to keep track of them.

Same here AD...I still have name in my account that were moved ages ago...
I had 700 names there...now down to about 40....I gave up on RegFly ages ago....and it is amazing how much extra time I have on my hands....

Could not have said it better

I am in the exact situation as you are and took the words right out of my mouth.....

I would love to get all my names out of there...But since the whois information cannot be modified in Bulk, have to go through the pain of individually modifying them.

My strong suspicion is they are not fixing the BULK WHOIS mod, to prevent mass exit from Regfly.....

THEY SOLD US A SERVICE THEY CAN'T SUPPORT......they are selling bulk transfers, bulk registrations etc....but CAN'T SUPPORT BULK MODIFICATIONS in the control panel......

No, Paul referred me to my accout rep, Luci. She called me at home which I missed, but my returned calls only got voicemail with no return calls. Everything I emailed her went unanswered, however, she (or someone) did fix a pricing issue on my account and got some questionable charges credited in the amout of about $25.

I still have hundreds of names there with incorrect whois, their bulk change scripts still don't work, and they refuse to fix the incorrect whois for me (which shows their own name as all contacts) . In addition to the bad control panel data mentioned above.

I decided I've had enough, and they are not worth the effort. I've transferred about half my domains there out, and as I tediously fix each whois one-by-one myself, I unlock it or get the auth code at the same time and transfer away. To make things worse, I changed the whois on about 60 domains and initiated the transfer. About half failed, because the whois reverted back to their info again, resulting in more work to redo what I had already done once. In another couple months I will be a former big time customer for them.

At one time I had about 1200 names there. I had started transferring out at one time, and they offered me special pricing to keep them there, so I stopped at about 800 domains. The price was still a little higher than my alternative, but I didn't have to go through the hassle of the transfers. Now, I don't think I would stay even if they gave me $4 renewals.

Theirs is a sad way to do business. :(

Until recently, both registerfly and namecheap were Enom resellers. Registerfly has recently become a full registrar, but many of the domains their are still actually at enom. If you try to renew an enom based name at RF within a couple days of expiration, it renews with the enom reseller account instead of RF as the ICANN registrar. If this were the case, you would actually be transferring from enom to enom, but just switching reseller accounts. I wouldn't doubt that this could be part of the problem. Most recent problems at RF have been related to this transition.

Well, ... either that or the generally buggy and half working scripts at registerfly. ;)

I don't recommend using RF until they get things under control, and it doesn't look like that is going to be any time soon.

They got them half working? I thought it was still in the alpha stages
