need help immediately registerfly 2-16-06 (updated = resolved )

I think i have just lost 5 important domains to registerfly.

I just tried to renew my domains because I've been recieving renewal notices from registerfly that the domains were expiring today 02-16-06. Theyve taken payment but an email was sent that they were unable to be renewed.

First off I've tried to call they're support number 1-(973)-736-2545 and it just keeps ringing.

I've checked my bank balance and the money has been withdrawn but the renewals were unsuccessful.

Now heres where things get more aggravating. I start checking whois's all around and firstly notice that the whois expire dates all say 02-15-06 (not a typo). I have proof of many emails from registerfly that the domains expire 02-16-06.

Secondly, in the renewal emails, registerfly explains this

Forget to renew?.

RegisterFly.com allows a 30 day grace period after a name expires. During this 30 day grace period you can renew your domain. After the 30 day grace period expires your domain will move to the redemption period for 30 days prior to being dropped and made available again for registration. Once the domain is placed in redemption you CANNOT renew it via our interface.

Somebody help me.

I should also mention that i have always renewed on the expire dates in their emails without fail before.

First, I would suggest you relax a bit. I assure you that all is fine. I if the domain(s) just expired you have the grace period. Just keep trying to contact them. You may want to try PMing NP member regfly

Good luck

This issue has been resolved

A quick PM from RegFly came through. I gave him my username and immediately my domains appeared. Handled very quickly and smoothly.

Response from RegFly:

The names have been renewed. Our system will retry up to 3 times in the event of a failure. Also we do have a new process

Renewals:

We have a new renewal process in place as of 2/1. Previously RegisterFly.com used multiple providers to handle our backend domain name registrations. We are now consolidating from multiple providers into RegisterFly.com directly. When you submit a renewal request we will be requesting the transfer from the different providers directly to RegisterFly.com, inc an ICANN acredited registrar. When the name transfers over (usually in a day or so) the full year will be added to your domain name. Your site and settings will remain unchanged during this transition. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our support department at [email protected]

Alright, Iโ€™m really happy for you. You came to the right place. You should thank Robert by bumping his reputation.

I hope you stick around here for a long time but I have to warn you, itโ€™s addictive. Iโ€™ve tried to leave but without the help of a twelve step program I donโ€™t think I can.

Glad it worked out. I can empathize w/ freaking out when it looks like you've lost something, you're in the dark and dates and other details aren't adding up. Whew~ i've been there. As was mentioned, the 30 day grace or redemption period had you covered.

PS Speaking from my own experience, I can tell you that Registerfly is legitimate, above board, and righteous- overall, a very good company.

There are definitely some poor registrar's out there but more often than not, (not in this case- your post wasn't a complaint), the complaints arrise out of a misunderstanding or are the result of a mistake that the complaining party has made. In the past I was jumping to conclusions and getting unduly bent out of shape more often than I'd like to admit. As the big picture became clearer, it became easier to differentiate the misunderstandings and the instances where I was screwing myself, :guilty: -from those instances where I was, actually, being screwed.

I'm glad it worked out for you.

Addidtionally, you may want to renew your names a day (or two or three) early, just to avoid situations such as this. Just a thought.

I'll second that.

That incredible how the board (Namepros.com) came through for this guy!
Another member for life.

I have the same problem twice, and Registerfly said it was due the upgrades they are performing to the interface.

With a simple suppor ticket they solved the problem within the following 24 hours after submitted it.

The first time my domain was lost and another guy had registered as soon as it expired since Registerfly says there is not guarantee related to the period of grace.

However, anyway due it expired due the problem with their system, the got back my domain without problem.

The other was just a rutinary impossibility to renew near the renewal date but they did it manually on my behalf.
