Are most people doing their registrations through businesses they've created or are they registering domains as an individual? What do you think are the pros and cons of registering domains via your business or as an individual? If you created a business which format did you choose and why?

Any opinions/advice would be appreciated. :)

I have an LLC that I just really got off the ground. It's mostly to legitimize my business and to help simplify some tax stuff. For the new domainer, registering as an individual is fine.

I really don't understand the benefits of registering under a business to give advice, but I think that you should be fine unless you deal with huge names or very risky TM names.

as far as I am aware, if you are just going to buy and sell domains, registering them as a business would be fine, and in some cases, parking companies will pay you without requiring your SS # or Tax ID #.

However, if you are thinking of starting a website, a legal business would make sense, to avoid any future liabilities.

Either way, the main reason for registering as a business is for liability purposes.
