Are Generic Domains really that important

I have written a post on Generic Domains and the part they play in building an online business.

i will give you an example:

search for: "daily available" on Google

You will notice that dailyavailable.com is ranking first out of 300,000,000
and it ranks there without any promotion.
Of course, that is a search term that doesn't have many searches, but generic domain really help in the SEO process, because they already have the term needed for that site to rank in it's own niche.

Which google version are you using? As on the .co.uk version it doesn't appear to be showing.
Good example though of how the generic name helps in SEO ranking.
If there are any SEo guys reading - just how much importance do the SE's place on the domain name?
