Hey you guys. I Received an email from someone wanting to buy one of my domains for over $100000. I believe that it is fraud but assurance from you guys would be nice. Here is a transcript of the email below. Thanks yall. FYI I'm black and the buyer is red.

Look. If you are really serious about buying this domain name you can send $25,000 directly to my USDC wallet. Once those funds are received we can finish the rest of the transaction via your selected payment method.

This is the address for my USDC

My name is Elizabeth Hayashida. I'm a lawyer and domain attorney from Tokyo. I have gratitude even from Sedo and Afternic teams for helping their clients to find buyers. You can read about in in my Telegram group https://t.me/joinchat/PgxWbVGtGy8gBpsewuMILQ

I act on behalf of a corporation from Tokyo, Japan. They want to acquire your domain.

The buyer offers $175,000 usdc. It's a rare and exciting offer even for us with over 16 years of experience. We usually sell domains for $5000 - $50000 and happy with our 6%. The buyer is a well known bitcoin "whale" (bitcoin trader who manages his own trust fund). He also invest in web projects and startups. Your domain will be used for his new multi million dollar project.

The buyer is a rich crypto investor and professional trader (top 10 on Bitfinex). To complete the sale safely we need to use an escrow service. He cannot send the funds direct to you without a guarantee. The escrow will protect both parties during the transaction.

He can pay in USDC only (you can read about this stable coin at https://www.coinbase.com/usdc) and GoDaddy and escrow.com services do not accept incoming USDC payments. We will have to use MyEtherWallet crypto escrow. They accept USDC, bitcoin, Ethereum etc.

If you don't want to receive the funds in crypto it's not a problem. The buyer will send USDC payment to them. If you prefer to receive the payment via Paypal or bank account its not a problem. They may change buyer's USDC to USD and send to you via Paypal.

I could not find another reliable escrow that can support incoming USDC payments for domains.

But the MyEtherWallet domain escrow requires that each domain sold through their platform must be verified and appraised by their team for security reason (anti-fraud measure). They also verify trademarks for Japan. It's important for my buyer. If you don't have their verification document you can order it online.

After you get their verification you will be paid the same day.

You can find a link to their escrow in Google Answers: 1 (“Domain Broker” is my nickname).

If you are ready to proceed but new to this process I may send you step by instructions how to verify your domain with them.

What is your Telegram messenger user name? To communicate with me online please use Telegram messenger. Here is the invitation link to our private chat: https://t.me/joinchat/PgxWbVGtGy8gBpsewuMILQ

If you don't have Telegram you may install it on your smartphone from Google Play or AppStore. If your Telegram account is new and you cannot send messages to other members please send me your Telegram user name and I will contact you.

Update. I think yall will get a kick out of this fake buyers response.

Look? Forget about direct payments without escrow. Its a pure scam. Your offer wasDeclined by our security department.

You may take $25000 and sell to another person. Agree?

Do you think we are idiots? We are a big professionals in Internet security. Only escrow is the afe way for you and us.

Since you don't wait to accept our conditions we cancel the sale and accept offer of other seller. He agrees to list with MyEtherWallet.

Skim the letter. Find the word “appraised” (yes, it’s there). Game over.

My suggestion download the app go into the chat and instantly report her before doing anything else!

I got a similar email from Hayashida was offering five figures for a domain I clearly listed on GoDaddy at $2,500. Seems suspicious. Thank you for the warning.
    The message looked like this:

    "Hello,
We saw it listed for sale. We have found your email address via online GoDaddy WHO IS service.
If it's still available please respond. We can make a good five figure offer for your name.

So I just now kindly replied:

    "Greetings!
Thanks for your interest. Who were you referring to when you said "WE can make a good five figure offer?" Furthermore, I'm curious why a five figure offer is being considered when the price is four figures.

EXZIS.com is available for $2,500 USD and can be purchased through GoDaddy's payment processing, PayPal, or Stripe. The value will rise every year. If you are interested, I can send a payment link immediately.

*Escrow services may be considered, but require contract writing which incurs additional fees. Also, a partially-refundable deposit is required to start the contract writing process for escrow payments. DocuSign is preferred to electronically sign an escrow agreement.

Additionally, I have a variety of other domain names for sale, including:

    dxuse.com
    ezaax.com

    zlulz.com

    Yup. Here’s her follow up:

    ———

    Thank you for responding!

My name is Elizabeth Hayashida. I work as a broker in Japanese hosting company - Kagoya (part of GMO Clod). I will help you to finish the sale.

I act on the behalf of our client from Japan. I will be your broker in this deal. He will use your domain to generate traffic to his new web project.

My commission is 6 %. It is divided between you and the buyer (50%/50%).

To communicate faster install Telegram Messenger on your smartphone. The send me your Telegram user name (nickname after @ ).
Then join my Domain Sale Private Group
    <<link removed to post>>

You may also talk to other domain sellers from the chat who used my services in the past. I have many happy customers. This way we will finish the deal faster and easier.

I work with many domain investors from Japan, China, Korea, Singapore etc. If you have other domains I may help you to sell them to my investors.

The buyer keeps a big sum in crypto currency who wants to invest in web projects. The buyer offers $175000 USD in Litecoin/Bitcoin or via International wire transfer/Western Union. Do you also own .net and .org version? The buyer is a professional investor. He earns serious money on web projects. Your domain will generate traffic to hos new project because it has a good potential and search engine friendly. That's why he can offer a good price for your domain. Professional investors buy through personal brokers. They don't use Flippa or GoDaddy Auctions so you cannot sell there for good money.

The payment to you will be made via escrow service to protect both parties during the transaction. You will get 50% before the domain transfer and 50% after.

To proceed with the sale, the buyer requires certification of compliance with Japan law and trademarks because he will run his startup in Japan.

The buyer pays good money but he must be sure he will not be sued for using it in his country. He needs an independent certification of compliance with Japan law that proves it can be used in Japan.

Please don't worry. If you don't have it you can order it online. I will help you with instructions and will not leave you along with this.

Please note this is not a SSL certificate. I hope you understand it.

The certification must include the following:

    - The certification agency must be certified to verify domains in Japan.
    - Verification of compliance with Japan law and trademarks.
    - Legal restrictions for his country.
    - Independent valuation by market experts.
    - The certificate must be up to date (issued during last 30 days).
    - Official copy of the verification in English and Japanese.

But the certification gives a big advantage to you. If the certification shows a higher value he will pay the higher price. If it comes lower he will pay you the sum I mentioned earlier.

We asked him if GoDaddy and Sedo certificates meet the requirements. If you are ready to to sell to my client please let me know.

I was sooooooo excited reading the email. I am just starting domaining and I told myself WOOW man this is crazy I just bought the domain and $25,000 like that! This is gold! Anyways if it's a scam just want to know what's their purpose? Like, steal your domain? Steal your info? And how did they find me I purchased the personal data protection form Godaddy.

Anyways any helpful/relevant comment would appreciated.

I felt same way when they messaged me. A good way to see if they are blowing smoke is to request them to send you 5 g's via bitcoin. If they send it cool. If they don't cool. You didn't lose anything but you gained a lesson. FYI this tactic is only recommended on low quality names.

    The classic answer :

My name is E Maebashi. You were contated by my colleague Mr. Miyazaki. I work with English speaking clients of our company.
I represent a buyer - a company from Tokyo. They want to use it to drive more traffic to their new web project. Commission of our company is only six percents. It's paid when you get the money.
He is a GoDaddy verified buyer. The transfer will be a simple process because you both have Godaddy accounts. You will get 50% before transfer and 50% after. You can be paid via wire, Paypal, check or any other method you prefer including crypto.
    The buyer offers $25,000 usd.
Do you have a certificate? It's required by their bank.
The final sale price will depend on the certificate ($25,000 minimum - if it comes higher they will pay more).
If you don't have the certificate it's not a problem. You can order it online.
Please note he cannot accept it from any agency. He needs a manual service. It also must be a third party independent agency (not your broker our auction site) and must be accepted by his bank.
    The certification includes the following:
    1. Independent valuation of the market price. It will show your domain name is not overpriced. On the other hand if the valuation comes higher, he will increase the price accordingly. In the domain name industry, there are many appraisal tools that people use to estimate the value of a domain name. My client does not want to risk and doesn't accept services that use scripts. If you are unsure about some service feel free to ask me.
    2. TM and law compliance verification. It proves your domain has no trademark problems. He would like this verification to be included in the appraisal report. It's not a problem because some companies include the TM verification for free.
    3. Copy in Japanese.
    The process is very easy:
    1. Go to the certificate agency site and order a certificate. Just submit your domains and let them know you have a buyer with $XX,XXX offer. It will help you to get a better valuation.
If your domain is worth at least $10000, they will send you the payment instructions. If it's not possible, they won't send you the instructions. This way you will not lose anything. It's very convenient and gives you the full protection. Other services charge you upfront even if your domain is not worth spending the appraisal fee, so I don't recommend them.
    2. Send the certificate to me and we will start the sale process. As soon as the buyer receives your certificate they will buy your domain.
If you are new to the certification process, I can help you with the step by step instructions.
To read the review you must have Telegram Messenger installed on your smartphone. To communicate with me online please use Telegram messenger. Here is the invitation link to our Domain Sale Group: <LINK>
Add me ( @ ElizaManager ) to your contacts and we will be able to chat in Telegram. If you don't have Telegram you may install it on your smartphone from Google Play or AppStore.
One of my sellers already sold to this buyer from Tokyo. You may read his review at <LINK> Feel free to contact him.
Please respond ASAP. No risk for you to proceed since this is a certified by GoDaddy domain offer with full proof of funds. If you send the certificate the buyer will have to pay you the same day.
