Question about Freshdrop Auctions

I am a newcomer in the buying/selling of domains (I'm also new to the forum, so pardon me if I am posting this in the wrong place). I have been following the status of a particular domain for some time and found that it will be auctioned shortly. I should note that I am interested in this particular domain for personal use rather than business, so I've got my heart set on it.
I've been scoping out Freshdrop, and my main concern is this: I notice Freshdrop lists multiple auction sites in one place (i.e., Namejet, Pheenix, Snappy). What concerns me is that these identical auctions end at different times.. as well as being listed at different prices. So is one auction more valid than others? Does the first auction hold more weight? (as in, if someone wins the first auction does it continue to the next one or do all the auctions end?) The first auction is more costly.. but would it be wisest to try for that one?
And also.. I haven't any way to run through an auction beforehand... So can someone tell me more about the auction style? Is it similar to the eBay style of auction?
If the auction starts at $25 and I put in a bid at $90, will the price I pay be equivalent to my maximum bid regardless of other bids? Or wil I only pay higher if someone else raises the going price?

I also have a question regarding domain backorders. I understand very little of the process and am looking to know at which point in the process backorders come into play.
Are backorders something that allow one to bypass the auction process and snag at some point between expiry and before being listed for auction? Is that something I want to do before or after they are listed for auction?

Also, if someone could point me to a comprehensive auction guide/FAQ that would be a great help.

Thanks!
