Purchasing Domains with Existing Page Rank

Hey everybody, I never knew there was such an active domain forum or would've been here long time ago. Have a question for you professionals on the board:

I'd like to purchase a few domains with existing Page Rank and I've seen some good prices for PR3-PR5 domains that I like but... how do I make sure that they don't lose the Page Rank once I buy them? Does Goog do a lot of that when you buy a domain? Is the PR usually lost? How does Goog look at this?

I think I would make sure all the links are OK IF I am in the same vertical as the last owner of the domain. But what if I'm not? How do I protect the PR then? I've even seen domains with PR and no links, that seems a little fishy. am I off base?

Hi

if you have so may questions about pr domains, then I suggest not to buy them.

I never have, because pr can be faked.

however, for a lot of folks, it's a key to their prosperity

if you still take the pr route, make sure to check "where" the actual links are coming from and where they are located on that webpage.

good luck!

Huh?

So you would suggest not to ask questions about something before you buy it? I'm asking because I don't know. Since you didn't answer any of my questions I'm assuming you dont know either.

no, I only suggested that, if you have so many questions about pr domains specifically, then, not to buy them.

you are certainly welcome to ask any question you wish

however, many of them cannot be answered.

for instance, it all depends on what you plan to do with the domain after purchasing, that dictates the after effects.

that's common sense

because if you do nothing, then what do you expect will happen?

you speak of, 'what if i'm in same vertical"

what does that mean?

does it mean you plan to develop the domain into or around the same subject, theme, etc as previous?

spell out your intentions, clearly, then you may get clear answers

but no one knows what G will do, they do as they please and we adjust.

that's how the game works.
