Yeah sorry but your straw man argument is not going to work. No one said for anyone to disclose their financials, and no one was just talking about you.

Yes if one is starting threads, that imply "Man I am kicking butt with ***extension, it's unbelievable" Or I am regging a ton of names in an extension or niche but can't provide any other details. There is a lot of room for disinformation, unfounded hype. While one might not be looking to sell their names to those reading, those people especially newbies might start regging a bunch of names based on false or misleading information.

They then might pay someone for an appraisal, so while the person did not make a direct sale they might make money indirectly.

Does anyone have to list every sale? Heck no, but someone should have a couple sales they can point to that helps to validate their position.

    @lolwarrior

You are talking about two different issues here....

The gTLD topics will always evoke positive and negative responses. Positive from new domainers picking them up and negative from old school domainers who may feel a bit threatened.

Don't confuse people like @equity78 asking you to provide facts to back up a claim as being picked on. He is news oriented and he is going to ask for facts. You left yourself open to the discussion when you opened the topic. People like myself and others were respectful and I know personally I stood up for you while at the same time asking questions.

None of my posts were deleted so as you can see those, plus others, were on topic and real conversation gathering facts and stating opposing point of views.

As far as what happened with Bob, I am aware of the deleted posts and I cannot comment on them because that is between Bob and those members.

The only thing I can say for sure is that your post above is mixing two separate issues and kind of trying to lump them into one. Again, I like you and I try not to confront the person but I will engage the topic.

I was going to bite my tongue here but please don't confuse bullying with members trying to gather facts to decipher or dissect an opening post. We have all started topics that have opened Pandora's box and wished we could crawl away until the topic gets buried, that is all part of public forums.

I'm sorry but I don't fee it necessary to disclose my sales in any attempt to improve my credibility on NP.

Do you hype stuff, because if you hype stuff with no proof you have no credibility. But I don't think you are hyping stuff are you Stu?

You're not starting the type of threads lolwarrior does. Trying to make it appear all is going well, when it's not, again pumping. The renewal thread he started gave that away. The main point you want to get across is usually in the title, first sentence/paragraph.

"latest large new gTLD domain sale"

Making it seem he's getting these all the time, and this is just the latest. He was also reading the thread the whole time when he was on "vacation" getting posts deleted left and right.

Thanks I am not saying you belong to Namepros show us your tax returns.

But I am pretty sure if I started 20 threads taking about .tv names and how the money is just rolling in and if you don't have any LL.tv names you are dumb or don't get the future. Eventually somebody going to say, "Can you provide any proof of sales, point to any buyer that developed a website?" That was my point.

Like when you list a name in the marketplace, say TycoonCapital.com I put it up for sale, with the registrar and expiry. But if I said TycoonCapital.com no reserve starting $1, name makes me like $50 a month. Yeah Namepros says I have to prove that.

Just playing devils advocate for a moment. If you look at Brands.International over time (I've not checked archive org before posting this) @lolwarrior has increased both the quantity and quality of his nGTLD portfolio. At least from my recollection of visiting his website. Where did he get the money to do that, if not from sales? Are you saying it's all just a charade, with no sales? And he is just financing this scam out of his own pocket?

I imagine where most people get their money, their job or some other place. When I first started getting into domaining, the money came from affiliate marketing income, which was 100% of my income at the time. I think it's a very small percentage that actually do this for a living, most have a job and use that money for domains.

I base that on he's 100% in new gtlds and can't afford a decent website and I know renewals were starting to eat him up, hence that renewal thread.

I don't know if he is or he isn't Stu, I know plenty of domainers that just keep regging names and spending more money (in .com) without making any sales.

When I ran the .tv subforum there were some who kept regging no sales.

Charade? - Maybe, only he can say for sure.

Scam? - I don't think he has cheated anyone so that is a mighty strong word, one that I would say does not apply.

Yeah. I'm still guilty of that. But I am trying to grow and improve :) It seems like with every new sale, the money gets spent really quickly. I have about 100 nGTLDs and 500 other domains excluding .com and nGTLDs. My target for these 600 domains is to get that down to under 100 (mostly comprising of defensive registrations and a few potential sales). Even a lot of the defensive registrations in the nGTLDs are going. Since there are no sales, it basically means dropping them all. A few nice ones I haven't let drop, and renewed. But I will need to get much tougher when this 600 domains approaches 100 :)

Inexperienced and to a degree desperate to get some publicity to move some domains.

I don't think he intends any real malice, I have seen a lot of scammers on namepros and that is not a title I would give lolwarrior.

You can visit the hosting section, I reported scammers before, never handled.

Couple of other instances, one with a fake profile, some other one somebody actually lost money. In both cases members were pointing it out, their posts get deleted because I guess they didn't point it out nicely enough.

You have members that have scammed other members and get Market Restricted but can still post, message people etc. Those types should be given a complete boot off the forum.

Then you have people trying to run game. One just messaged me with:

"lol, it's pretty funny watching you cry like a little bitch ass.."

He's one of the guys that likes to come into threads and massage things over. Then gets things deleted.

Simple solution for those do not want to publically disclose sales but would like some recognition from people who don't take things at face value.

Show proof of sale to a trusted independent 3rd party, this keeps the sale private and provides verification for the doubters.

Both parties are then happy, but I suspect those that don't disclose their sales are happy anyway and should not be under any obligation to do so.

    Edit.
Would a private sales thread along this line work, be appealing to those who don't publically disclose?

Well did you add @Eric Lyon @Paul Buonopane and @Amanda to that pm so they can look into it? You should be outing that person for everyone to see.

Not for me. I'm happy having my sales almost anonymous. Of course. If you were determined to find them out. You probably could. Even with no help from me :)
