This must be another way for godaddy to make some side cash here.

GoDaddyGoDaddy
so you are saying godaddy doesnot own the premium 3 word Domain name you are looking to purchase??

Its no scam or side business, when someone lists their domain in the Go Daddy premium listings program names show in the registration path. The name is available for the price set, not for registration fee.

As usual, godaddy is correct and a poster is wrong.

it's something like someone has posted it for sale on godaddy at a premium price , so it's not actually available for registration but godaddy is acting like a broker and you can buy it at that particular price

I think the OP was saying he tried to buy it for $6k but couldn't for some reason!? Not sure haha..

The domain is "available" but not in the sense that the OP thought it to be - unregistered and available to grab at reg-fee.

I just typed in one of my own domain names at GD, currently listed for sale and I see:

[mydomainname].com is available.
is at auction through GoDaddy Auctions.

And to the right, it shows my my price and a button that says Get This.

Perhaps they could change the word or remove the "available" altogether to prevent confusion.

They want it to show available, they want an end user typing in a name and seeing it available and adding to cart for purchase.

Your name Razor is using Go Daddy Auctions, but using the Premium Listings it just shows available no mention of auctions just add to cart and purchase.

Basically the same thing happened to me once at namecheap.
Saw a domain, and hit buy, without really thinking that it was not to register but to buy at the sellers price.
Not 6 grand, but still a 4 figure price.
No, did not buy.

i bought a domain from godaddy last week. i searched godaddy's search for the name in one browser and it came up available to register at $12.99. i went to my other browser that i had open that i had already signed in to goddy on and searched the same name and it came up as available for $1375.00! i did a screan shot of that page and went back to my other browser and bought it for .99 cents. ??? i have the proof as i have the receipt for the purchase and the saved screenshot of the $1375 price. what's up with that?!!

I have been tweeting available domains, recently. Follow my link to the lower left and see the same domain is offered for $1,288 at GoDaddy and only $10.69 at NameCheap. D-:

I've come across about 8-10 examples of this variable pricing from them.
