I would like to buy a domain name. The record shows that it expired July 19, 2009.

Why can't I buy this domain name? GoDaddy says it's not available.

Well, as per the whois information domain name should be available for registration/. The domain is in redemption period and will be available soon. Keep trying and check the whois information. It should be available within the next 8-10 days or so/

I will be available on 5 or 6th October. It remains in REDEMPTION PERIOD for 1 month of time from the updated date and after that it comes in PENDING DELETE STATUS and remains in same status for 5 days and the 6th day it gets available

another thing to consider is that the original owner may reclaim it during the redemption period. just throwing that out there- good luck with your effort

Usually, regsitrar may shorten the auto renew grace period. To gain more profit in redemption business.
