.mobi Who are the Sedo .MOBI auction Buyer's?

This is an ongoing thread ... as the recent Sedo .MOBI auctions finalize via escrow, and Whois (and other sources) update ownership(s), I thought it might be insightful to see who purchased the domains (we already know the gross sales amounts not including Sedo commissions, etc.) and what their compelling development plans may involve, IMHO. Did any End users / developers secure these domains for unique development and promotional campaigns for those that are "on the go"? :talk:

Did Bank of America (BOFA.mobi) acquire Loans.mobi (as they already own and promote Loans.com)? Bank.mobi ... which Bank potentially bought this one today? Did GoDaddy purchase Hosting.mobi ... for $100g's?!?
Or was it primarily the Usual Suspects™ ... or a combination of both? IYHO's.

Sedo made money. mTLD definitely made money. What kind of websites are coming? :gl: :music:

I believe there were a few acquired by domainers, but they are domainers that develop their sites, so I guess they would then be an 'enduser', and that would be a good thing, as they will be in route towards that 'eco' thing of yours. (I do know Loans.mobi didn't go to a bank.)

And Jeff, there's a few of us that wonder if maybe you went 'shopping' today. I mean a day of mobi buzzing, and you weren't around posting thru it. Hmmmm...

I tried for 'interviewtips.mobi', but I got outbid and quit. I didn't think that one was worth $500, at least to me. Is that one even a premium domain?

I have similar domains in my portfolio right now, and I don't think they're worth as much as this went for. I've got 'ResumeTemplates.mobi', that one has a much higher wordtracker and I don't think I could get $500 for that one.

as far as bids go. i really wanted rent.mobi
thought went dirt cheap. surprised ebay etc. didnt come in for it. maybe they did.
i know the dotcom & associated business went for about 300 big ones.
that's millions !

i also liked pets.mobi (maybe next time for me if released in november)
& pet.mobi

always way. cashflow is diabloical at mo & couldn't really take a full part.
things can change from one week to next in this game re; sales though

als is lou gerhigs disease. a pretty good three letter word which I actually was bidding on and would have loved to have but tte reserve was a bit high given the name would be hard to sell to anyone outside of the als community (what business wants to be known as the Loug Gerhigs disease business?) so I thought it too risky and quit when I couldnt push it past the reserve at a reasonable price.

I'll be honest, I'm quite disappointed in the prices these domains fetched - maybe with a few exceptions, they sold for pretty low prices (when considering the potential for some big-players in the relevant market place).... it tells me that the dotmobi hasn't really started to establish itself yet / or the part that .mobi will play in the mobile web is being played down.... still, its good to know that these will be developed & in all honesty the mobile web is in its absolute infancy still... just wondered if any of you think these prices show otherwise?
