welcome in the Adam Dicker's "lets create webpages and sell them to local business owners
buy them from me for only 1.495 USD" Isclub of scammers.

I saw the quote above in a thread comparing Rob/Epik to Adam Dicker. I thought this was an unfair assessment and was compelled to make this post.

Anyone who has been keeping up knows I've had my fair share of criticism toward Rob/Epik in the past for business decisions and opinions I don't agree with.

For many months we've seen threads get derailed by drama and arguing from both sides of anti-Rob and pro-Rob groups.

What a lot of people don't know is I ended up doing a few temporary projects for Rob/Epik here and there for a few months last year so I can tell you what goes on behind the scenes.

I've never, ever seen Rob take money from anyone and I've never/ever seen Rob go back on his word. Him and his team are professionals and run the business up to industry standards.

You may not like him as a person, you may not like the way he run a business, you may think he project ideas are stupid. But I can tell you from experience that he believes in and does what he says.

Saying that, the most he is guilty of is maybe being all over the place with projects and ideas and perhaps making business decisions that some people don't agree with.....

But he believes in his empowerment projects and the people that participate believe in it, too.

You either like Rob or you don't but at the end of the day, Rob is NOT a scammer.

Yes, and people with expertise in certain things can spot people who don't pretty easily. It's like when people here hop in threads pretending to be TM experts, then an actual lawyer who knows about TMs and has been involved in actual cases comes in and schools them. Some of these people still argue with the lawyer. It's not a good look for them. This is kind of where you're at right now.

I like Rob but I don't agree with all things that he says, many times I find his posts very valuable, and sometimes I see that he was wrong and I criticize objectively.

I like his spirit and enthusiasm on trying to innovate and make big changes in this industry, I hope that he will succeed in that because it will be in the benefit of all of us.

it's only cheaper when they do it right the first try
it's not cheaper at all when you need somebody from russia or so
later to fix it

Wow .. more racism! :( .. Seriously @frank-germany .. as much as you can be annoying at times, I thought you were better than that.

FYI people .. when you blindly attack the intelligence or competence of an entire country, that's discrimination/racism. @frank-germany .. you've really sunk to a new low here! :(

I don't think there should be titles like that here, my initial reaction was it's negative. But then I read her post and have no idea if this was some marketing thing.

Honestly guys .. JB isn't wrong here. I 100% would have thought the same thing if I didn't already value @Tia Wood's opinion and think enough of her character to know she'd never post an endorsement like that for money.

In the end I really don't think any of this was @Tia Wood's intention. She probably just wasn't used to @frank-germany usual anti-Rob ramblings and didn't realise that nobody would have ever taken that one little grammatically destroyed quote seriously in any way. For the rest of us, seeing her title and entire first post, it's definitely a reasonable conclusion that there was something far more serious than a single @frank-germany post that actually did somehow bring into question whether @Rob Monster was an actually scammer or not .. when in fact .. the reality is that Rob being a scammer was never ever seriously brought into question.

I did read it correctly .. maybe it's YOU who should take time to read AND understand things better. The context of this entire racism thing is based on @cipcip implying that Rob will get a lower quality of work because he's getting his workforce from areas of the world where labour is cheaper (@cipcip specifically singled out India in this case).

So what you said above specifically implies that Indian's don't do a good job and that Rob would need to get someone else (a Russian) to correct the Indian's work.

Blindly implying that an Indian's work would need to be corrected is racist and discriminatory!

Let's be very clear that neither you or @cipcip implied that SOME Indians do bad work and SOME do good work .. the implications were that Indians are "cheap labour" and that Indians aren't as good as he is.

So maybe you didn't realise the context of what you said was racist .. but within the context of this conversation it was 100% racist against Indians. Frank .. I realise English isn't your first language, but you seriously need to make an extra effort to understand the context of discussions before jumping to conclusions and making misinformed statements. What's worse is that your English grammar combined with your multi-line incomplete sentence style of writing is just horribly confusing .. which when all combined together leads to it being almost unavoidable that you not be understood or even worse .. that the intent of what you write is different from what you do actually write.

The racism thing I really don't get. To want to empower all races is the opposite of racism.

If I accomplish one thing in 2020, it will be to eliminate the stigma in the domain industry that Nigerians are scammers. It is the opposite. See related Tweet from earlier today:

The domain industry is a tremendous catalyst for empowerment. Some here might not even realize it!

I hire people in developing economies not just because they are great value for money but also because I believe in human potential -- THEIR potential. Hence the commitment to teach a man to fish:

One of the folks I admire very much is Dr. David Livingstone ("Dr Livingstone I presume?"). I shared a short bio on him in another thread. It is worth a watch:

For those not aware, he was Missionary Doctor who gave up all to serve in Africa for 40 years and played a key role in ending the African slave trade.

yes, I love you too.

I love India - the whole country
and I love the Indians - yes all of them.

( That's kind of racism too, right?)

And I even know what I'm talking about,
as I have been there twice
and would love to be there again

but I would never ever hire an Indian programmer again
when I would be able to hire a Russian or Ukrainian

Very noble! We are all children of our maker. We shouldn't judge people or communities by their worst, but love them for their best.

I changed the title to: "Positive Review about Rob Monster's Character"

And I added the following context below the quote since so many people have overlooked the quote itself and the reason for this post in the first place.

So you can all put down your pitchforks. The title was changed and context added.

I, personally, do not think it's right to carelessly call someone a scammer like that. You may not like someone or how they run a business or how they interact with a community. But that doesn't make them a scammer and it's not cool to throw that word around.

People want to get mad at me for a title I carelessly wrote but not the false accusation in the quote above?

Weird....but okay.

A hobbyist isn't going to be as knowledgeable as people that do this kind of stuff for a living.

Hey, I have a friend, known him for 35 years. He can play the guitar, by ear mind you, just as good as Eddie Van Halen. He's a "hobbyist", never had a professional gig, yet by ever single person that has ever heard him play - thinks he's phenomenal. Close your eyes and listen to him or a cut from a record and you would be very hard pressed to tell the difference. He can play the guitar strings off a guitar with his eyes closed. Never had training. Self-taught.

Missed calling, perhaps, perhaps not. Those of us with no musical inclination all say he did miss his calling. Either way, it doesnt make him any less knowledgeable than his guitar idols. ;)

My point: do not ever count out the hobbyist. :)

are ,org domains a great investment for newbies?

is "shooting to the moon a great advice?"

is giving those kind of advices over and over again
in order to get newbies to register domains

If you have solid proof and people to come forward that have been "taken", then post it.

If not, your words are very careless.

he is all over this place creating authority

he is creating hype and fake hopes
in order to get newbies to handregister names at epik

hope
is the force that makes them register
based on the "information" an authority is providing

epik benefits

if the newbies will benefit
is unclear

The racism thing I really don't get. To want to empower all races is the opposite of racism.

Reread the first page .. in @cipcip post to you:
Good luck with your team full of indians, cheap labor.

If you read the entirety of his posts he was very obviously wishing you "good luck" sarcastically and thus implying blindly that he was better than Indians.

The context of his "Good luck" was in the sarcastic sense "Good luck because I know you're going to fail (because you hired Indians who are cheaper than me)".

but I would never ever hire an Indian programmer again

Sigh .. @frank-germany .. again .. that statement is 100% racist. When you blindly single out an entire race or country, that's racism. The fact you also write that you love Indians doesn't change the fact you also made a racist statement.

Maybe what you meant to say is more like "I've had a bad history with some Indians I've worked with, and so going forward I choose to focus looking for workers elsewhere".

Frank .. you seriously need to be more careful with what you write. I know your intention isn't to be racist or hateful .. but you need to respect the fact that your communication skills are unfortunately very bad .. and as such you really need to make an extra effort to be as precise and exact when you say things.

yes his best maybe
but good advice?

proof it

Frank, I actually appreciate your cynicism on NP. It adds some flavor to this forum, and you're actually quite intelligent.

As for your take on Rob, and your relentless criticism, I'll continue to disagree with your opinions. I think Rob and his staff are some of the most valuable contributors to this forum, hands down.

I've had a bad history with the Indians I've worked with,
and so going forward I choosed to focus looking for workers in Russia and Ukraina
where I had a great experience

all were great people

additionally,
I know others had the same results

So I would not choose an Indian as my programmer in the future
as I want to avoid another bad experience
but that's my own preference
you may choose differently

and I really love india
and all the indians I met were really nice and honorable people

blindly following a leader hasn't been a great choice for Germans in the past

personally I learned already in school and even more later on
to look a little more into the details
and question everything
before worshipping

and let me add
for now, I don't suffer from Alzheimer's disease

when I first came to know about Rob
everything he posted was absolute insane
( I try to be nice here )
and from there I started to read his stuff with different ears.
