OINK! Hello to everyone here at NamePros, I’m happy to be joining y’all. My name’s Eddie and as the title suggests this will be our official thread here for funneling announcements, questions, feedback, and anything else folks want to talk about. I or someone else on the team will be checking regularly and being as responsive as possible.

I am very disappointed you would assume something like this with zero evidence and in fact the name was registered at Namecheap. That exact word was on the list I made days ago in preparation of .io sale, and no search done by me at Porkbun.

I bet hundreds of people had that exact name on list because we all use similar tools such as OneWord domains and ExpiredDomains. In the end I wrote it on my possible list, but decided not to register it.

This business of suggesting someone at a registrar is front running has been made far too many times on these pages. It is past time to stop. With many tens or perhaps hundreds of thousands of domainers seeking unregistered terms, many people can independently chase same words at same time.

I apologized when another poster explained the name was dropped. It had such low TLD usage, I was surprised it went only hours after my search. I jumped to a wrong conclusion and apologized for it. My apology was quick and was made almost immediately. I'm sure everyone else here has made a mistake in their lives and apologized. You can add me to that list.

That is good. It would be even better to edit out your original post. Are you still in edit window? I am never clear what it is for different threads. The problem with an apology is people may see original only.

Sorry, didn't see your apology initially due to pagination. Apology accepted and ultimately, my frustrations are not just with your statement but the overall cry wolf that regularly happens pointing a registrar as doing front running. Hopefully we can all move forward now.

It's a great idea - but you're ignoring too many exact match results. For example, there are exact match results within Atom's Sapphire marketplace that are not shown at all atom.com/sapphire/all. Also, Sedo has exact match too but you're pulling multiple word searches instead

I heard lots of praise about Porkbun, both about the pricing, interface and support. I also like how Porkbun offers USB-sticks as method of 2-step-verification.

I decided to create an account at Porkbun and register a domain there. However, I couldn't sign into my newly created account, and the option to recover or reset password did not work either. I then tried contacting the support first by phone, but got an answering machine saying I should contact support via chat. I tried that, but this also failed. I don't know what has gone wrong here.

By the way, I tried contacting support on a Friday between 4PM and 5PM Central European Time, so well after 6AM in Porkbun's local time zone. (the website of Porkbun says support opens at 6AM from Monday to Friday)

I like Porkbun, but hese Bodis ads that Porkbun displays on customer's expired domains can cause customers to lose their domains from a UDRP, so it's not a minor thing.

Anyone else unable to login to Porkbun currently? For me, the Cloudflare verification just gets stuck then eventually fails.

However, for the last couple of months, the Atom Results always fail to load. I'm using Chrome but have also tried an Incognito window as well as Edge and they give the same result. I realise this is probably some issue calling the data from Atom, but it would be great if you could look into this?...

The spinning wheel of death remains where the Atom results should be. Does anyone else have this issue?

I try with 4-5 name(Not gibberish),its all appear. can you try with common name/word? Don’t forget, Atom is a brandable marketplace.

Thanks. I have tried many times with proper words. If it was working for me and there were no results it should not sit there with the spinning wheel of death. Regardless, in the past it always produced results for me, though of course perhaps they weren't exact match.

Interestingly, I have tried again with single common words and it is giving me results for those right now (I am not normally searching for names like that). Many of my domains are 2-words, so perhaps when I'm searching to see what else is on the market (like mine) Atom can't find anything it feels is similar so it doesn't return results. Or maybe something has changed with the algo. In any case, if there are no results that's what it should say, rather than leaving the spinning wheel there.

Doing some further testing, the results are strange. If I search for 'nuts' I get this:

However, if I search for 'nutz' I get nothing:

Now, consider the second result from the first search - the domain "nutrovia.com" was returned. That contains exactly the same number of letters which matched the first search term as those which matched the second search term. Thus you'd expect the results to be somewhat similar. Instead, nothing at all is returned. There is a clear issue with something there...

I search for 'lolz' and receive this:

Notice the domain 'mp3lolz.com' which I highlighted at Sedo. Well, go direct to Atom, and that is listed there:

So, why is @Porkbun returning that result for Sedo, but not for Atom. Rather peculiar.
The same goes for my original search for 'nutz'. Now that I search direct on Atom, look at the results:

My feeling is that anyone searching for 'nutz' would most certainly want to know that 'nutzone' is on the market. I know I would!

Could you tell me... I tried creating a Porkbun account in order to register a new .com domain, that was about 4 months ago.
After clicking the link in the email to activate the account, I could not log in. I tried chatting with the Support but couldn't reach anyone, and then I tried calling Support but could also not reach anyone. I live in Europe, in the time zone CET. This incident occurred on a Friday afternoon around 4 PM and I tried contacting support again around 5 PM. Even with the time zone difference in mind, this should have been within the opening hours of Porkbun support.

I then gave up and sent an email to support. I then got an email back (but not within the first hours or so) saying they couldn't find my account and that something must have gone wrong with the activation of the newly created account.

Now I read a lot of reviews about Porkbun and they are overwhelmingly positive to extremely positive. Maybe I just had bad luck. I'm willing to give Porkbun another go, but what worries me more than the failed account creation (a technical issue can occur with every service or registrar) is that I couldn't reach support neither by chat nor by phone. I wonder how that happened? If it was 4 to 5 PM in Central European Time, then it must have been morning in your time zone, so Support should have been open already.
