Let's start with one which is more than generic, large spectrum, maybe too large for my own ability/capacity of developing the appropriate site with such a name. Maybe there is a direction, specific approach or issue to focus on in order to make of it a easy simple useful tool for users ?

Hi Adrian, 'Activision' gives me the image of a site providing solutions for watching videos/tv on the net. This is just a rough idea but what about developing a simple easy site which would list and provide all 'free video players" as well as codecs. Specific links to wellknown sites selling their license & upgrades would supplement this activision tool.
Just my 2 cents.

do Inter Milan have a .tv to their name yet ? (thats one of the world most famour soccer teams for those that aren't soccer fans.. ) thats an obvious buyer for it. development ideas, i need to think about...

damn ... where to begin?

i'd say it would be the perfect name for you to contact visitor and tourism bureaus and get a copy of those dvd's or tapes that they send out to attract visitors - then, for a fee, convert them to mini commercials that you will host on your servers to help promote their city/area that they can link to and you will show in a directory

I was able to reg this one yesterday after waiting for it to drop.

I know the TVIP should be IPTV, but I don't think it hurts the name too much.

However, any ides with regards to developing this one would be extremely welcome.

Nice catch Alex! (where are you watching the .TV drops at?). I have TVOIP.tv, I was just thinking of putting a one pager up against mine for the time being (something like I have at mixed.tv) - This is my intention for the short term against all my .tv domains, get a template, stick some text against it and get some PPC Ads on. Over the long term it is my intention to develop them into more substantial sites (as time permits )

I would also appreciate everybodies thoughts on this one of mine: FFF.TV. I have a few ideas, one I am really keen on but I would like to see what other people think before I go for it.

I actually just go through a check for various names by seeing if they are available. If they are taken, I do a quick whois for the name, and get an idea of when it expires, and then go through the PENDING DELETE, etc phase.

Was actually the first time I have regged a name like that, and I was keeping my eye on it for about a month or so now, checking its status nearly every day.

If there is a faster way of checking drops, I would also love to hear about it.

Many thanks NameWaiter, interesting idea, will really think about it, perhaps obtaining from major travel companies their promo video teasers and ads. Not a problem for me to convert/compress original videos onto standard web formats, but streaming servers may be a bit more complex. Thanks again for your input. Reputation added.
