Hello ,every domainers
A lot of friends are asking me how the domain name market in China is
So let me make it very brief:

  • The Chinese market prefers 3L、4L、5L and Pinyin domain names
For the Chinese end users,Pinyin domain is more suitable for spelling habits.Because Pinyin domain names and word domain names have the same market status, but if they are exchanged, perhaps can appear very big change.

Chinese is the mother tongue in China,Chinese has a unique emotion. But for some short words, most people can spell them.At present, the English level of most users in China is not so good as imagined.

Therefore,pinyin domain name has a natural advantage.such as baidu.com/taobao.com.
In addition, pinyin corresponding abbreviations in the Chinese market is also excellent. So this spins off 3L/4L / 5L/

Due to the different culture,it`s a different market between countries.I think this maybe the charm of the domain name.

Hope it helps,If you have any other questions, please feel free to communicate
By the way ,what do you think of the difference between the Pinyin and the word?
Appreciated for your feedback

I feel like there is a little Pinyin word domains have a lot more flexibility in terms of branding in China due to the fact that pinyin one word could relate to a number of different characters whereas in English it's more literal with singular words for example NET can mean a net(for catching things) or be an abbreviation for network or an acronym for the letters N.E.T whereas Tao can have many different and easily describable ( to a native Chinese speaker) meanings outside of the acronym.

It's always interesting to see what types of names sell in China and the reasoning behind why certain Chinese business entities choose their domains because there is always an unique meaning.
