Tony - I got something from them a few hours ago, but still nothing yet. They are processing yesterday's stats right now, so hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise, we have another plan.

Understand that not everybody works 24 hours a day like myself. I'll take care of them.

Donny

Donny, the amount of time your put in to helping everyone is nothing short of amazing. I don't think anyone will argue that you are not the best parking company rep out there.

Keep up the good work. +Rep for always being quick and on top of things (oops, spoke too soon, I guess I can't rep you again yet :'( )

If Donny where a Presidential candidate, he would win hands down, and the best thing is that since he works 24 hours a day, the US would come out of this apparent recession in no time at all. Gracias Donny! :tu:

Me too. It is the single worst revenue day I have ever had at Parked.

My uniques are lower which account for some of it..... but RPC totally tanked .

It could be a thousand reasons why, but if this bad PPC market continues I will have to stop parking domains totally and develop some and sell the rest, or some other solution.

It's really upsetting.

what's everyone ctr?

I've averaged about 15% or 16% for several months, but over the past 2 months or so, i'm at ab out 8% or 9%. I'm getting some more uniques, but still, the CTR has dropped a bit. what can you do??????? :music:

On Friday, our total revenue was down 4.42% from the previous Friday. But the overall CTR was up a whole point for this Friday over last Friday.

I would cause too many problems as the president. I'm just way to honest and I don't read anything for I press send.

But it still would be a blast....

The first day I would walk into the Pentagon and tell them they are all fired and I'm replacing them with "The Terminator", "Rambo", and "Robocop". I know they could solve all of the problems with the military, because each of them have had multiple movies about them made.

Maybe make Hugh Hefner the "director of entertainment". Linus Torvolds (linux), Rasmus Lerdorf (php), and Michael "Monty" Widenius (mysql) would be in charge of making the entire government open source. Remember it's your government, if you don't like it, just go change the code. :)

Remember what Monty Brewster once said, "you can always vote NONE OF THE ABOVE!"

This friday was superdead. Me included - I was totally offline - as I've drinked upto 1L scotch whisky from thirsday/friday. :D
Yeah, and all of my stats were below average. Maybe it's due to quite nice weather for this date. :)

Opensource government would be fine. Especially in US, where most media are in few hands and FED people don't care who's president, it's always their doll.
Bomb a country, print more petrodollars to feed military. Sometimes bomb country with crude oil to get back meaning to "petrodollar". That's why Iran is no. 1 US enemy now :) They don't want petrodollardailyprintermoney. And when there won't be oil for dollars, then dollar will change to printed piece of paper :(

That's how world runs. Hope it doesn't totally collapse until I'm alive. Who cares for next doomed generations :)

Guys, Parked.com and parking overall is TOO GOOD to just let us give up like this as domainers!
Obviously, the business is on the decline...let's make it rise again!

Any brilliant ideas?

Now THAT'S CHANGE WE COULD TRUELLY BELIEVE IN. :tu: I'd even immigrate to the the US to vote for you. Who would you replace Ben Bernanke by? Dr. Doom?

BTW it may be worth registering donny2012.com. It's available :gn:

I don't think there's going to be any magic bullet for domain parking, at this point. Really good type-in names will continue to do well, but are largely spoken for. Fair to middling names will continue to decline, and bad names won't earn at all.

Here come the bots. What a pain in the ass for Parked, I'm sure.

Abnormal run-up on clicks on particular domains......it looks like you guys are on top of it as it was just rolled back........but I'll PM you a domain that ran up around $35 from one unique and tons of clicks.

SDX, here is my hair-brained idea:

I think the parking co's have to do some sales work to bring their own advertisers into the fold to mix with G or Y results, like Marchex is currently doing, and then eventually dump G or Y....... so the profits can be spit b/t two parties instead of three. Maybe Ask can be folded into the mix too if the payouts percentages work out.

We should also have the ability to sell advertisers on parked pages just like the parking company, whereby we point them to the signup page and they go there, put in the CC number, and create a link on the parked page. I'm not sure where that link would go though b/c of integration problems with G or Y, and if they would even allow it. Maybe the TOS does not allow much of this.....I don't know, but if this did exist, if the percentages paid out to domainers was really high, and split b/t two parties instead of three, than many domainers would get on the phone to sell and there would be an immediate sales force behind parking due to the exceptional return from making some phone calls.

If domainers got that involved in filling up Parked's pages with ads, which could then be sydicated to other similar keyword parked pages, then both parties would have somewhat of a symbiotic relationship, since we would both be invested in each other, and everyone would be sitting in high cotton again (after we got some depth to the advertiser base). The orignal domainer who sold the ad could get an override on the earnings made by other domainers too since he/she brought that advertiser to the table. Maybe a half a percent or one percent override would be enough. It could almost be sold like an MLM, going two or three levels deep. And, it could be that if enough money was at stake that many domainers would spend more time selling ads than buying domains.

Lastly, what if we brought salesmen from the outside world that have no interest in domains but love the thought of earning one percent residual income on an ad they sold that was placed on 10,000 sites, for example. I think it could blow up.

I used to run PPC sites with advertisers on them (that's a long story, but we did not violate Yahoo's PPC patent since we wrote the software before they had a patent ) . If you have great, generic domains it is like shooting fish in a barrel in terms of getting advertisers signed up. I remember signing up 12 advertisers in one day back in 2003 or 2004. They love the traffic.....it's a no-brainer decision for them to get on those pages.

I realize this would have to be better thought out than what I just explained, but it is just a rough idea of something I think might work....... and since Yahoo and Google can drop the axe anytime they wish......it would seem prudent to have a back-up plan, or a plan that is implemented before anything bad happens.

What do you say Donny......how about we all become closer partners and move towards an inkling of independence from the hands that feed us?

Just a thought. B-)

We need landers with content which could make a great difference to conversions and also cater to other factors. I am eagerly awaiting the new template changes that Parked is working on.

Yes..... that would be a start for sure done across many niches.

Imagine if we could also sell ads on them too and keep a big chunk split b/t Parked and the domainer. :yell:

Okay....I've said enough for awhile.

Seabass, I am of the opinion that advertisers on Yahoo pay the best across almost all niches (except for most adult kws). If we were to sell ad space on the domains, they would never get us more than we are currently earning. Imo, its better to leave the ads "as is" and rather have better content based templates and maybe one day even have the ability to add our own stats monitoring code.

Some GREAT ideas guys! :tu:
...
I would absolutely agree that we need those new templates to get the "ball rolling" UP again.
...
One shining example of "template power" I think is in Namedrive...HORRIBLE pay, but UNBELIEVABLE CTR's!!!
...
If we could only increase CTR's by a little bit at Parked! :)
