I've previously spoken about the Extreme Optimist, Moderate Optimist and Pessimist.

I have identified another opinion. It appears less sincere.

The best analogy that I can make is this... Have you ever heard about someone who purchases 1 share of stock so that he/she can leverage an objective - for instance an annual shareholder's meeting.

Buying a share of stock enables a voice. It's just a hard pill to swallow the sincerety of the concern.

Thread after thread shows a pattern at Namepros. Interesting topics followed by extreme, extreme caution.

I think that it permeates so deeply, so persistently that it should at least be a topic of conversation.

And, really, that's OK, and back on topic - as, again, this isn't the "Jeff thread"...
But actually, I'm pretty sure it is...

"Yes, and it is both invasive and pervasive yet seldom persuasive." Couldn't have said it any better myself Cobo. Noticed it before I bacame a NP'r. Those fence sitters need to get out from behind their computer's and take a lap around the world and really see the mobile revolution in action. BTW, good thread JeremyP

hehehe.

I have to admit something to you guys. I saw Jeff and Lobrroca a few days ago in person hanging out in the back of a school trading mobi names (pokemon cards).

I almost sometimes think they are so against mobi that they actually love it.

This forum is great :D

Only the obvious ones. It's become clearer now, the more you deny it the worse you look. LOL!

I can't believe I am hearing this, LOL!!!

Ok, how shall I prove I'm not Jeff? Any suggestions?

You guys are off your rockers!

Actually I think Hawkeye is Jeff personally.....trying to do reverse psychology on all of us. He's going to ruin our .mobi portfolios, watch out! :hehe:

LOL! There is no proving it, that's what makes this so fun. Reminds me of a bad schoolyard rumor.

Now I'm beginning to wonder if Jeff is really Jeff! He always agrees with himself, that seems really fishy to me....

I don't know, at the rate you're posting, you'll catch up to the 23,000 pretty soon! But seriously, Hawkeye was just poking fun (I think). The thing is, about your saying how "ridiculous" this thread is: you've been here 1 month, and have had a lot to add to the discussion, but I don't think you've really heard much from Jeremy in that time. However, in the first few months of the MOBI release in particular he posted quite frequently, and has generally been one of the leading lights in the MOBI forum, contributing many valuable insights, bringing a level head to many otherwise heated threads, and I would say is seen as one of the top champions of the MOBI extension.

Obviously, you're familiar with Jeff -- as much as he'd like us to think otherwise, he's one of the biggest MOBI Detractors™ and in my mind his negative tone is far more insidious than someone like Labrocca, who at least doesn't pretend that he cares at all about MOBI or those who invested in it. I picture Jeff sitting in front of his computer, gleefully rubbing his hands together, tossing his head back, and cackling like an evil madman whenever there is anything that looks bad for MOBI. He then leans over his keyboard and types, "Oh, but I DO care..." "SO concerned about this turn of events..." "...what will this do to the 'Ecosystem'?" with a little smirk on his face.

So you'll have to pardon some of us if we happen to think that Jeremy is spot on with this thread. I don't think you've been here long enough to get the bigger picture. I'm sure you've noticed comments here and there in response to Jeff from those of us who agree with what Jeremy is saying, so this isn't exactly something that's coming out of nowhere. As usual, though, Jeremy's just very good at crystallizing a vibe and putting it into words...

Ok, dagersh I guess I see your point. I know I post a lot in here, and that does make people question my motives. But if you look at my posts, you'll see I have no other motive than to discuss and learn about .mobi.

I just like to talk a lot, and I'm sure it shows. Some internet people are paranoid about everything, that's just par for the course.

This has to take the prize for the most hilarious thread I've ever seen though!

I am not sure it is just a mobi thing.

I see it with other extensions.

I see it with IDN.

The problem is, I see it too often...period.

I think there is this perception that by being part of something you have the right to say or do anything regarding that particular issue or matter. The truth is, you have that right regardless. I like the analogy of buying one share to show up at the annual meeting to voice your opinion or just to be heard.

Some end up simply making asses of themselves because they are so transparent...the emperor has no cloths. They are really quite naked and don't know it.
