Only three percent of new gTLDs contain business websites, 41 percent contains PPC

Verisgn analysed the new gTLDs and concluded that of all the domain names registered under new gTLDs, only 3 percent of those contain business websites on them.
Also, it was found that 41 percent of the new gTLDs were used in PPC websites.
A PPC website contains only a little user-generated content and almost exclusively advertising links.

I picked up 40 new .gtlds.... I cannot possibly develop 40 web sites in a month, so of course most are on ppc; not that that will generate anything significant, but still. This might be a more interesting stat two years down the road, after domainers have gotten burned and dropped tens of thousands of speculative domains and developers have had a chance to work the better domains.
