I was able to pick up these two names in the 5th day of EAP for a great price. All the highly targeted keywords like news and porn sold in the 2nd day of EAP for around $3,400 each. Please share any of your .now, and your thoughts on the potential future. For some reason, I prefer this extension to .deal that also is in EAP.

In case y'all missed it, domains.now is the official page for .now and this is on there... only a matter of time before GD is on, they already offer Amazon's .bot

Awesome!!! Obv GD isn't live yet, but you've got to think they'll add it soon (and hopefully afternic). Won't need Atom at the point and their absurd "verb" premium denials

Found another corporate registration. What stuck out to me was this was just registered last month.

Hopium:)
Amazon don't care about .bot and .now, I know it since I own sagemaker.bot domain.
Plus, they have their own .aws/.amazon TLDs.

TBH, I don't know why Amazon needs these TLDs to be owned by them.
Amazon is 2.4 trillion dollar company while Verisign (who manages the king of TLDs - the .com +.org) worth 19 billion dollars. Therefore, it's not about the money from domain registrations/renewals.

Also it's not related to their main business nor completes it. Maybe there was some thinking about offering it to their AWS customers and create some lucrative exclusivity there around their cloud services.

To me, it's sounds like one of those adventures that the magnificent 7 (Google, Amazon, Apple etc) like to take here and there. For example, Google domains that ended up sold to a different company after Google realized they don't really need it and it's a waste of focus and resources for them.

Time will tell what will happen here.

Having said that, I still have some skin in the game...

From Atom

"The .NOW extension is relatively new, and we have limited insights into end-user sales at this stage. We believe it has potential, which is why we’ve included it in our Premium section. However, due to the current lack of significant end-user demand, we’re experimenting with different styles of names—primarily one-word options—to gauge traction with end users. As we gather more data and start identifying trends in names that resonate, the acceptance criteria may evolve.

At this time, we are being cautious about accepting too many .now names, as we want to avoid flooding the marketplace without seeing a corresponding increase in end-user adoption. In the meantime, if you’re submitting strong SLDs that align well with the extension and demonstrate good commercial adoption (e.g., relevance to industries with potential VC investment or development across other TLDs), your submissions are more likely to be accepted."

It really does make sense. At first, even domainers, including myself, were hesitant about .Now. However, as more sales and adoption occur, Atom will start accepting more names.

I've noticed seasoned domainers showing interest and picking up .Now names. The more attention .Now gets, the better.

It makes sense but not sure I'm buying that explanation.

Skincare.now was rejected 3 times before being accepted on the 4th attempt.
I have others rejected on 2 attempts and accepted on third.
And some rejected on 1 attempt and accepted on second.

What data, user signals and increase in end-user adoption actually showed up within 3 weeks to greenlight after multiple attempts?

I don't expect an answer just sayin' Atom's explanation seems to be a stretch. Would've been better to just leave it at we are slowly releasing .now names into the marketplace. Please don't submit too many names at once as not all will be accepted and you'll just be burning thru your coins (money).

I think you are conflating 2 ideas (I am guilty of this too).

Atom does not want too many names accepted until more sales occur. Resubmissions (or appeals) can still allow some names through as they haven't hit their "internal" limit yet. Perhaps there is no limit, they just want to "slow" acceptance. Either way this is different than what we're seeing.

The haphazard way they accept names for premium runs outside just .now. These sorts of resubmissions and eventual acceptance happen in all TLDs (and make no sense imo). But that's a different issue. The reality is, a resubmission gets a whole new set of eyes on a name (I fear they really don't track the fact that a name was denied 3x and then accepted on the 4th try). For example, I had a name rejected. I appealed. The appeal (which was a manual appeal by an internal Atom expert was denied). The name was then accepted on resubmission only 2 days after denial of the appeal. In my opinion, once a name fails submission and appeal or 2x submission it should be "blocked" from acceptance for 1 year (at least). Because as you say - what could've possibly changed in such a short time. But this is not how Atom works. I flagged this to them some months back. They used to show the dates of rejections on their appraisals. I found a name that was denied 4x and then accepted on the 5th try.

Instead of changing how they do business, they removed the ability to see the dates and # of rejections - and now just say "previously rejected". The fact is, if you are willing to spend coins and submit over and over, many names will ultimately be accepted.

Yes indeed… This is one of the best new extension with a lot of potential. We just need one large organization to adopt .now, not as a redirect, but as the main URL of their Web Portal. I don’t know if Amazon will ever promote this extension, but if it decides to use .now for any of its initiatives, .now will suddenly surge in demand and value. Also, .now sounds much better than .xyz. Alphabet’s adoption of .xyz with abc.xyz ushered in a new era for the .xyz extension. I think Amazon’s adoption of .now can really work wonders for this extension. Rest, I think is all about being patient & holding onto Your .now’s. I have a feeling that 2025 will be great for the .now extension…

I think using .now for brandable redirects is a smart move until it gets more traction. If a big player like a major bank starts using something like Bank .now(not mine) in their campaigns, it could really boost interest and demand. Pairing .now with .com makes sense . Companies probably won’t ditch .com anytime soon, but having .now as a useful marketing redirect is a win-win.

I picked up PWA.now and backorder.now during the EAP. Only the first one is a registry premium.
