Based on random samples of numbers I checked, it looks like 15-20% of the NNNNN.com domains remain available to be registered, and since there are only 100,000 of these domains total, that means there are only about 15-20,000 available.
In the last 7 days 1,286 NNNNN.com domains were registered and 56 dropped. Continuing on or close to this pace, they should all be gone within 2008. I have gone through and checked the first 30000 numbers and there are now no 1NNNN.com domains left, about 930 (9.3%) of the 2NNNN.com domains are available, and 3,014 (30.1%) of the 0NNNN.com domains are available (apparently these are less valuable). I am assuming that the availability is fairly evenly distributed for the remaining but haven't checked yet.
Is there going to be a market for these when they are all taken?
