Is it true all NNNNN.com Domains are gone? If so, that's pretty amazing and makes me see an even bigger future for all short .com in even Combinations like L-LL, LL-L, LLLL, NLL, LNN, NNN, NNNN than I had previously imagined.

Yeah, the NNNNN.com's are gone. There are a number of things to look for though on the aftermarket.

One is US zipcodes or postal codes, US zipcodes have gone for $2.5k+ in nice areas. At my blog (see link below) I have lists of various foreign postal codes that are also 5-digits, so far I have put up Kuwait, Italy, and Mexico. Other countries have 5-digit codes and I am hoping to put up these in the future (Germany, Sweden, France, Czech Republic, Brazil, and more).

Other things to look for are lucky or meaningful Chinese numbers, numerics are huge in Asia and 173.com just sold for over $300k two weeks ago. There are a couple of NNNNN.com's in the top 100 Alexa Chinese sites.

Michael Goldman over at Domain Magnate also has a guide to numerics, with very good information about repeating numbers and premium numbers.

In general it seems that the lower the number, the better, 1NNNN.com's were the fastest to be bought out. Also check google results, how many hits the number has, and google adwords to see how many people search for it and if there are any other search terms that come up.

Another thing people look for is whether the number spells something on a cell phone. 37467.com spells "eShop" and went for $15 here pre-buyout. Check out Jamptap and Numeric Domains for more info on cell phone words.

Finally, does the number represent a part number or other significant number? Over here is a list of some developed NNNNN.com's if you want to see examples of different uses for numerics for possible end-users.

I think they get scooped up fast every day, I can't find any available to hand-reg anymore. I think bidding on snapnames has gone up to mid $1x-2x for some of these. This is similar to the early days after the LLLL.com buyout, and after that prices rose significantly over the next few months. If anyone can get NNNNN.com's on the cheap now, I would recommend it. It will be interesting to see where prices ultimately go on the NNNNN.com's.

I see a conservative estimate of $40 for a completely random, non-premium NNNNN.com. This is based on the fact that there are 10% the number of NNNN.com's as there are NNNNN.com's (10k v. 100k) and the base price for a non-premium NNNN.com seems to be around $400. This is similar to the price comparison between NNN.com's and NNNN.com's.

But ultimately prices for all numerics will probably rise as interest from China keeps driving demand, like we saw two weeks ago with the sale of 173.com for over $300k, and the fact that a couple of NNNNN.com's are in the top 100 Chinese Alexa sites.

Also, the fact that most NNNNN.com's are already developed websites makes these a pretty scarce commodity. Since Marchex seems to own over 1/2 of the NNNNN.com's and has already developed them as US zip code websites, I think the total amount for available for any "liquid" reseller market may be under 40k, which is a lot smaller than the LLLL.com market.
