real sale or not, i've had a significant increase in uniques to my related domain on the same extension both before and since the sale.

Just research a few things and it looks a pretty legit sale to me

Have a look at who owns it?
What business they are in?
What other domains/sites they own?

All that info is usually a clue whether its legit or not...
